The Jynk Shuttle

By Yoda Man, in X-Wing

So how about Jyn on the sheathipede? At A low cost ship, up to three focuses on any ship in the squad and has double the chance to trigger than most other ships with crew. So...

Ezra(17)

Jyn(2)

PTL(3)

R2-D2(4) to survive

or

M9-G8(3) to help offense on a friend.

25-26 points to help out team with focuses and other actions.

Ezra starts with PTL, Jyn and then target lock or coordinate for friend. If they go after him there is his ability to deal with and the other 3/4 of the list and if they don't he is just loading out tokens. I'm looking at this in terms of a support ship seeing as it can't really attack for anything and offensive boosts to itself are more or less not the best way to go.

biggest question is the one about the arc coverage for Jyn, does she work for front and back and do both, if they do work, work at the same time?

I think you're investing a lot of points into a ship that's never going to do much damage. I think the coordinate action is already very strong, and ignoring that to focus on Jyn is a bit superfluous. AP-5 is therefore the natural choice - probably paired with Corran to ensure he gets his actions.

Jyn works on both the front and back arcs simultaneously, but it's fiddly to trigger, since using it on another ship means they'll just target your shuttle instead and destroy it in a single turn.

So down to bare AP-5 with just Jyn I'm thinking? Bare bones that will draw fire off other ships and if people don't shoot it out of the sky then it functions to give focus out like candy. Just seems like an interesting interaction that could garner something, not meta or world championships, but something...

You're still really focusing on the Jyn combo, when the coordinate action is going to be used an awful lot more. With AP-5, you really want Inspiring Recruit on him to compensate for the two stress. That's sixteen points for a ship that gives out a free action and removes a stress every turn. At that point, it's too cheap for it to be worth your opponent's while focusing down early, thus giving you more bang for your buck.
