Thweek Shadowed - PS during Place Forces

By Androniq, in X-Wing Rules Questions

A. The "Condition Cards" reference card states that: "When a Condition card is assigned, its text immediately resolves."

B. Thweek's pilot ability says: " During setup , before the "Place Forces" step, you may choose 1 enemy ship and assign the "Shadowed" or "Mimicked" Condition card to it."

C. The "Shadowed" condition states: ""Thweek" is treated as having the pilot skill value you had after setup ."

So, during setup something happens that requires the players to know what will happen after setup.

Does "Shadowed" get suspended until the end of setup due to this wording, so Thweek is always placed on his native PS 4? Or Thweek copies the enemy ship's PS without Adaptability, then gets adjusted to its new PS when the enemy chooses the side of Adaptability?

Thweek is placed at 4.

If he steals PS thweek is placed at that stolen PS but gets adjusted for adaptability.

Not so. Thweek's condition treats him as having the other ship's PS "after setup", so he gets placed as a PS4.

Correct. Read the condition - it says 'Thweek is treated as having your PS *after setup*', so he's treated as having his own until that point.

My brain read it differently to imply the after placement modification. However, you are right. PS 4 at placement.
