I'm trying to decide between this fleet, and the Dodanna Bomber Wings I posted last week. I'm going to be playing the game tonight. While I would play my Bomber fleet like any carrier fleet (keeping the ships just out of combat with other ships, but close enough to support squadrons), I plan to charge forward with this fleet. The AFII and GR-75s will have Squadron commands to bring up the A Wings and Z-95s (with one squadron getting left behind unless I have a token banked [very likely]). I want to make good use of the speed and maneuverability I have. Get in the rear arcs of my opponents ships with the Corvettes. The Transports will be my main squadron activation platforms, and possibly a sacrificial blocker if needed. The Assault Frigate will mostly be using Squadron commands, split between Navs, and possibly Concentrate fire (and Engineering when needed).

IMO Paragon is a waste of 5 points since (ridiculously) it only triggers on that specific ships second shot on a target

Why not superior positions if you are trying to get to the back arcs?

Not sure you have enough firepower but I like the idea

cheers

I question the amount of damage you're going to be able to do. Those CR90s are pretty light, and fairly easy to crack. On top of that, you need to bring them to at least medium range to be effective as you only have blue dice. Paragon seems like a waste as does SW7 on Pride. I'd probably drop both and try to get a 1st player bid so I can first/last with a double arc with Pride and hopefully get some crits that would open up that target for solid followup attacks.

I LOVE throwing a CR90B Pride in any list with Dodonna, however I've never been able to make a swarm of Bs work well. They are too soft. Beyond that, it's hard to get a swarm of them into position. You have to throw them around pretty fast to get them past firing arcs, into position and ready to fire, and to do that with several against a single target is tricky and takes a lot of maneuvering. The dream is to get all three in the rear arc of an ISD, but positioning this is difficult. Plus, keeping them there is challenging. And it's difficult to not only get in position, but in position with a dual arc shot...with multiple ships. The stars really need to align to pull this together. On top of that, you end up choreographing this plan from the very start so any half way decent player is going to make sure to cover their flanks to stop and harass your swarm.

Here's a stupid crazy idea. Drop a 75 and stick engine techs on both of the non-pride Bs. The plan is to get Pride into a position to throw out some choice criticals with a last/first double arc shoot and scoot. Then the other Bs come swooping in at speed to double ram with the ET. 4 damage from the rams, 2 damage from pride (more possible with structural damage), and you have a pretty intimidating combo. The Frigate can provide some long range support. Not saying it's any better, but it's interesting.

Putting Leading Shots on the Pride instead of SW7s would help it get that crit it needs.

Honestly, TRC90s would work way better.
