Officers and Commanders we have yet to see

By ianediger, in Star Wars: Armada

Imperial:

Eli Vanto, Inferno Squad (as a whole, or as individuals), Admiral Versio, Director Krennic, Admiral Piett, General Veers (possibly), Emperor Palpatine, Commander Faro, Admiral/Captain Pellaeon, Mara Jade

Rebels:

Hera Syndulla, Spectre Squad (or whatever the Rebels crew is calling themselves these days), General Han Solo, General Wedge Antilles, R2D2, C3P0, Chewbacca, Commodore Agate, Mara Jade

Also, how do I do spoiler tags?

If I forgot anyone, let me know.

Are you allowing Legends? That opens a world of options, like General Wedge Antilles or General Han Solo aboard the Mon Remonda. Or Admiral Palleon.

Im sure there are more, but those 3 would be cool.

Who doesn’t want to see this guy?:

Eli Vanto,

Vanto? Sheesh. Commander Faro at least directly commanded :D

Officers and Commanders. :P

Im surprised r2d2, c3po, chewbacca wasnt mentioned as officer candidates.

I'm assuming we're counting Aftermath? Cos Commodore Agate is definitely a Rebel candidate despite the... unconventional strategy at the end... and the fact she's New Republic...

Do they even have a rank? Imagine being subordinate to Chewbacca.

At Ensign: "Raaawr rawr" {while motioning to a hairbrush}

Ensign: "are you? Do you seriously want me to.."

"Awwwrrrrr".

"****...."

General Antoc Merrick

Bail Organa

Sabine Wren (If you play X-Wing, you probably know I'm joking...kinda)

Chewbacca (Seriously!)

Daala for the Empire! If we can have Thrawn we could have her too. True, she was in the Maw but still.

Also Yularen as commander. He was a very devent one and saved everyone's favorite soon-to-be-Sith's buttocks on more than one occasion.

And while we're at it, we could have commander Bwu'atu for the Rebels. If my memory serves me right he was already around during the Battle of Endor.

If Sabine comes to Armada, she'll be flying a bright yellow ISD... or even a... SSD!!!!!

But Daala was horrible. I don’t think she commanded a ship that wasn’t shot out from under her.

Didn’t the books explicitly say that the only reason she had rank was because she was Tarkin’s squeeze?

With the ability to deploy mine fields.

There was also the point she gassed all of the warlords to take command.

utterly ruthless, that one.

Mara Jade.

I just want her, and canon-issues be damned (we have Corran Horn). Never happening, oc, too much potential family entanglement to just take over.

So happy to take Talon Karrde, Pter Thanas and Piett.

And speaking of Horn, I would just love to see a accordingly painted Errant Venture.

I've actually painted one of my ISD's as the Errant Venture. Would need to design a suitable card to enable play it as a Rebel ISD in a casual game.

Here is the link to how it came out initially. Moved on a bit since then as added more shading and highlighting but its currently in shipping (moving country)so cant give an updated picture....but you get the idea.

Not really. She had some talent and she was very determined. She was also cunning unifying the Moffs after Pallaeon's death. She wasn't Thrawn but still a capable admiral.

This is Han's expression as he stares out the viewport of an MC80 dreaming of being on his beloved Falcon. Sorry, but Han just looks so out of place in this image.

I'm not.

For all its inclusive rhetoric, the Rebellion clearly does not respect aliens and droids unless they have to (ie. when the Mon Cals have shipyards and vessels that the Rebellion needs). The Empire is not so hypocritical. Within the Empire, aliens and droids know their place, and when a truly extraordinary individual alien (e.g. Thrawn) impresses the Emperor, that alien is given the chance to prove his value.

The problem though is that she was brash, impatient, and passionately vengeful. While those be good qualities in a snub fighter pilot, aren’t so great in a fleet Admiral.

This is born out by the fact that she was thought dead on 3 separate occasions, (2 of which were due to having her entire fleet wiped out,) and after the third she relinquished command to Palleon because even she realized she was a tactical dunce.

I will give you that as a politician she was astute, but as a commander, she has to be one of the worst in Star Wars. At least Ozzel never lost a SSD.

She was a lot more capable than all of these Empire Strikes Back admirals whose claim to fame were their deaths as a result of Vader's squeeze.

Rebels: Saw Gerrera

Imperials: Gilad Pellaeon

They were unspectacular.

at the same time, they also don’t have a list of spectacular failures.

Mas Amedda is another prime example of Imperial benevolence toward non-humans. He was the most powerful politician in the Empire, and second only to the Emperor himself. The Rebels claim to be all for equality among species but then they call for the restoration of the Galactic Republic, a government that mistreated aliens so harshly that many of them felt the need to attempt to secede and form their own government. And how did the vaunted Republic respond? With an army of slave soldiers led by religious fanatics, that's how.
