Who's Ready for Regionals?

By geek19, in Star Wars: Armada

Regionals are not ready for me, thats the problem. Dont want to be negative, OC.

This will be my first Regionals, they are not until February. Right now I am trying to figure out what to run. My 2 prime options are ISD2 fleets, one with Vader and Avenger, the other with Jerjerod, Relentless and a couple Arquitens. If Wave 7 drops in time for inclusion all bets are off though.

My certain one is early, 12/9, with the option I might drive to North Carolina in March. Which reminds me, @Undeadguy , are you going to that Regional?

Not sure about 12/9, which sucks. It's my girlfriends grandmas 90th birthday and her entire clan is getting together to celebrate xmas at the same time. I have to go to that above all else, but I'm not sure what day it is. If I have Saturday open, I'll try to make it out.

I'm for sure going to the NC Regional as of right now. I have no conflicts yet. If you do come up, you NEED to call ahead for a spot. Not only is it the last Regional of the rotation, but we get people from 3-4 hours in every direction. Expect a full house.

After meeting @Megatronrex and friends, I am gonna try real hard to get to NC this year. Marietta is on the radar first though, and I have no clue what to bring. A Pelta Garm list might appear in my testing in the next few weeks.

I've been doing some testing, but with our super unfortunate turnout as of late, it's all been against the same two people. Not sure what ideas work and what ideas just aren't working against the same competition. That being said, toying with a 2 ISD + Dictor list... it works better than it sounds like it should...

@ThatSlyBandit and I will most definitely be down at Giga for regionals. I'm hoping we manage to get to Raleigh too. I'm about 80% sure I'll hit both but I've still got to convince the Bandit to ride with.

I'll be in Livonia too, with an Ackbar Liberty build I've been tinkering on. With ET and three very strong arcs it has a profound threat range, but it's real fragile.

I am close to ready and we are a week and a half out to Mountain View regionals. We got a group of 5 traveling and it will be a first for all of us. We have been play testing for almost a month now and we are all very sold on our list. Luckily our local meta is whacky.

Im excited, but saddened as my flgs did not get a regional this year need to run more tournaments there I guess. I will hopefully be traveling to another location, list building is hard, as wave 7 should be out by the time the nearby regionals come around.

Just to say any one coming to giga for our regionals in December

Please bring mats!

that is all

Haven't played Armada since winning the store championship a couple of months back. So...guess I'm not one bit ready, and it's a three hour drive, so I'm actually considering not going. ?

My regionals (Vancouver, WA) is coming up, but this is really the first I've given any thought to it. It's been a while since I have been competitive at a major tournament, mostly because my attention has been elsewhere, and other people have been getting better.

I will probably just bring something that I enjoy playing - which is something that is easy on the old brain cells.

Nope. No one does, for any FFG game

So what you are saying is that in roughly ten days we should know whats in the regional kits?

As this is my first regionals is there anything we need to know thats different from like a store tournament? Like do we need to buy tickets/sign up early sort of thing? The store tournaments i've been to you just walk in, pay when you enter type deal.

Depends. Definitely check with the store .

If you're going to one with plenty of capacity, probably okay to just show up. If you're traveling, or you're going to one with limited space (for example, the 24-capacity store in Portland that's apparently supposed to cover the entire PNW and Western Canada...), get on the horn tomorrow and ask how to sign up.

I know of at least two that are at or near capacity already (Portland and San Antonio), so don't miss out!

We're getting Western Canada too??

Yes, it'll be a good idea to sign up ahead of time, as I have done.

Technically (which is the best kind), it's not in Portland, or even the same state as Portland. They're on the less-fashionable side of the river from us.

Essentially. For us out here, Its you guys. Then Calgary in Feb. And then you're deep into Central Canada, since its Winterpeg in Manitoba after that... assuming the roads are even open in the Winter!

No less than 13 hours in any direction. And Portland is out for me, since its a border crossing...

That's about 100% me. I have done two demo games since and I've not had the heart to play since really.

But since I'm like 2 for 15 or something in Regional games, I'm there for the door prizes and fellowship with the players. I'll take a simple list and enjoy.

My goal is Konstantine in top 4.

Lando's got you covered. I think he's my favorite officer for the Liberty, makes it much more survivable if/when something gets into that side arc. I also love intel officer, but there are very few ships that I don't love that upgrade on lol

Haha I saved it beautifully with Lando a couple weeks ago and then immediately flew it right off the table, it was the best
