Endor terrain Kickstarter

By ID X T, in Star Wars: Legion

I saw this earlier. It all looks great and is reasonably priced. Sadly shipping to Pittsburgh, PA is around $78 -$80 which is preventing me from going in on it.

You counted the exchange rate right? The usd is at $1.44 nz. I know shipping from this end of the world sucks but that sounds high.

Im not sure. I was going to throw in for the whole bundle which showed as like $105 American and $75 for shipping I believe.

i went back and it only is showing a total of 159 including the shipping so that’s not too bad.

Haha, yeah Kiwis are usually on the horrid end of shipping for kickstarters, so I feel your pain.

Hm, unfortunately not in the correct scale.

Isn't legion 35mm scale? The kickstarter says it's 28 - 32 mm

I coudlnt say myself, thought i had read it was 32mm?

Id like to clarify if this KS is in scale as I was considering backing it....

this?

I think I will wait constructing any terrain pieces unitl I really know the size it has to be. Minis have to be painted anywasy before I can play, you can't play with unpainted minis :D

For reference scale is determined to the height of the eyes, not the top of the head. So 35mm tall for Luke is pretty close to 32mm scale. That said I think there have been references to Legion being 34mm scale, but scale always ends up a bit fluid across different companies anyway as to how they actually interpret it.

This stuff looks pretty massive so the only thing could likely look a bit wonky might be the bunker, and that could likely be fixed by adding a spacer between it and the ground if it really bothered you.

That said shipping is cheap for me so I have to worry less, I fully understand not wanting to back the Kickstarter. Just wait till Legion is out and the kits are in hand and buy retail.

This all looks amazing but these are really in line with the Wizards of the Coast Miniatures which are going to be much smaller than legion scale. Some of them are barely passable with Imperial Assault miniatures. It looks like they are using the WotC AT-AT for scale on the tower.

But honestly scale is in the eye of the beholder.

Now for a custom Skirmish for Imperial Assault this would be awesome.

Hi All

This is not my project but I do know the creator and I can assure you that it is being designed to suit the Legion scale.

I am not sure what items in this kickstarter there are that the couple of millimeters would make a difference but if anybody would like some measurements to be confirmed I think I can make that happen.

The Dish Tower is not in true scale to the miniatures because it would not fit in anybodys house so it was made in a scale to work well on a table top.

The landing pad was similar and scales well with the wizards AT-AT in the pictures however should FFG produce an AT-AT that doesn't fit under the pad it has been designed do that it can be placed on a taller support (not included)

I have not frequented these boards since I the first few years of X-wing but I will try to check back if anybody wants anything answered otherwise Battle Kiwi is on facebook and pretty good and communication.

Scale measurement is all of the place. Some people/companies measure to the eyes, some to the top of the head. I’m reasonably convinced that confusion on this point is how we ended up migrating from the 25mm that was standard when I was a kid to the 28mm scale that companies claim their 32mm figures today are.

This has tipped me over the edge for committing to legion. It looks amazing!

I've just backed for the full package, and for once the exchange rate daemon and shipping gods are on my side

The scale concerns shouldn't put anyone off.

Miniatures scale is an absolute disaster zone of measurements. You can put 3 miniatures of the "same" scale from 3 different manufacturers and they will look completely different.

This stuff will look absolutely fine next to Legion models, based on the IA models in the pcis. Depending on exactly what size the majority of Legion models turn out to be (we have Luke measurements, but Luke looks big) it MAY be a mm or two too small, but it's really not going to be noticed on the table. Honestly, it really isn't.....most terrain for most wargames is a mm or two out, it just isn't a precise enough hobby on the manufacturer side to do anything else.

I went all in and ordered the “endor the world”package

Yep I backed this with the 'world' package too...cant wai for it to arrive, looks amazing.

They hinted at creating some Hoth terrain pieces in a future Kickstarter. That will be really cool I’m sure. Besides a shield generator what other terrain could they make? The Echo base entrance maybe? A wampa cave?

Endor Terrain. Not a single tree/treehouse/raised walkway. Should I be offended? Outraged? Happy? All I feel is confusion!

Is this going to be available for purchase

Looks absolutely amazing!

I wonder how many MORE days will pass before my posts are unhidden.
