Dead alright.

Best game store, ever!

Come back when the game has less than two matches, CC or no, going on.

Here you have it. Armada is dead despite documented evidence of people playing Armada.

It IS a pretty nice place to play, actually. Beer. Food. And a decent amount of space. But it is pretty packed on Friday nights if they don’t open the back space. Only a couple games if Armada on Fridays, usually, but it is a vibrant place to play a game nonetheless.

D***, I missed another death of Armada. Must have been because I was too busy running a ten person OP kit tournament with representation from 3 states. I had an awful lot of fun considering we were playing a dead game and didn't even notice.

It's funny but I'm going to an Epic Armageddon 40k tournament in January that usually has about 25-30 players attend. If you haven't heard of it it's because the game was dropped by GW about 20 years ago and is now sustained entirely by community driven list development and backyard model designers who produce amazing quality stuff.

A game doesn't die because the company isnt doing their bit. A game dies when the community kills it.

Armada is in a bit if a slump right now... but this is very temporary.

Overall, the game is strong. There is a wealth of build diversity. There are alot of different ships out now, and we no longer need Large waves of 4+ ships to keep the game fresh.

Some NEWS would be nice though, and the delay for Wave 7 is a bummer, but still the game is doing VERY well in my mind, even though it's a slow point.

and that's a situation created entirely by FFG. Game still sparks interest here. I was glad to see at the last tournament 2 new faces and someone who came watch just for the sake of it because he started playing last week. If FFG supported their product normally, none of these threads would pop up.

Here in Kansas I have to drive 3-4 hours for a store tournament, only to have 1-2 other people show up. I often have to wait more than a week to find a game with a regular player even though I have essentially unlimited availability. 3 local players have sold off their collections since I started playing in September. I'm glad your communities are doing well, not the case everywhere.

Nice. There are still 6-8 guys playing Mordheim at my LGS every Thursday. I hope Armada has that kind of following 13+ years after FFG stops supporting it.

I was recently in Kansas for 3 weeks and brought my Armada stuff with me. Not sure where exactly you are located, but there's a pretty decent facebook group for Armada in the Kansas City area. Lots of stores around there hosting Armada events. I played 3 or 4 times while I was up there.

I'm in the STL area(3/4 hrs east of KC) and we "have" a community with 4 or 5 regulars and 10ish floating around the city. I go to KC for their official Store Tournaments and I'll be there in Dec for the regional(16, in liberty).

It can be rough, myself and another guy here are pushing hard to get the community going, but don't give up. I find posting frequently on the local facebook page helps find games, if there isn't one you get to make it :). The midwest in general is rough because we're SO far away from other centers of civilization. Good luck out there.

I live in a pretty great place for gaming. Despite the smallishness of the city (about 500,000), we have really healthy game communities. Armada is probably the smallest local game community here, but it is growing. We probably have 15 to 20 regular players, 10 of which are tournament players, and 2 are regional champions. I'm one of the newest players to the game, locally. One thing that helps generate interest is playing the game publicly and being super friendly to anyone who wanders over to chat about what you are playing.

I live in Overland Park, Kansas and would love to play sometime!

I am on the Kansas City armada facebook if you wanna ask for a game there too.

Yeah, KC is where I have to go. I'll be driving 3 hours on the 3rd and 16th for games. Only 3 of us signed up for the 3rd so far.

I started Armada back in wave 1. Did not find much of a community on my regular game store.

Last week I just found an amazing community on my city, and played my first tournament. The tournament had more people showing up than expected and all agreed this game is great.

It's only dead if you look on the wrong direction.

See yourself back in KC anywhere in the near future? I'd love to get a game in against you again. Also I'll be in Orlando around thanksgiving time, don't think I'm taking any of my stuff with me though.

I'll be keeping KDY open for as long as I humanly can, so, there's that.

Well I hope it stays a while. I've heard a few people talking about having me make KDY custom ship tokens if these acrylics for the standard models work out.
