I've been talking up Runewars and the Runebound universe a lot at my home. My oldest daughter (8) has played a couple games of Rune Age and has been very intrigued by BattleLore. She loves Waiqar, I think because she won a game of Rune Age while playing as the Waiqar. Tonight we started a game of BattleLore, in part because of my fantastic Runewars game today. We only had time for 3 rounds before bed time. As we pushed things aside to continue the game tomorrow, she said how much she loves this universe. To my shock, she asked if Runewars was in the same universe as BattleLore (I must be failing at something for that nkt to be clear). She then said she just wished she could read more about Waiqar and the other factions. I pulled out the Lore Guide and said, "I'm gonna leave this on the kitchen table. When you wake up at 6:00, don't wake up mommy and daddy. Just go to the living room and read this." She beamed with excitement.

I suppose the Uthuk story is a little grim, but we'll see how she handles it. My guess is she won't like the Uthuk so much after reading it, and since the Waiqar section is written from the point of view of Waiqar as a hero, she'll stick with the undead and want to beat my demons on the battlefield. I can't wait to post a session report about our first Runewars game!

It’s good to “breed” your own people to play with! Mine are still too small (4 and 2) for these kind of games! Can’t wait until I can play with them!
