What has everyone pre-ordered

1 core + heavy. See how it goes with games and community.

My thoughts exactly. Will likely also buy a squad of Stormtroopers... I think you are required to have 3 trooper squads and only two come with the core.

Legion Core for me. I'll see if I dig it and if anyone plays locally. I'm not investing in a game nobody will play. Again. From FFG.

My bud and I each ordered a starter set. We'll see how it goes as well. I'm wary of scale issues with terrain, i.e. actually finding buildings that don't look goofy.

If he digs it and we actually play, I'll invest further. Surprisingly, with a slew of games present in my community, not many in the scene seem interested in starting up another

mass battle squad based system. So much work and we really want these painted on the table.

We may get some recruits that are leaving the other big companies in the dust, however.

Nothing. What's the advantage in preordering?

All I'm interested in is a core set. If I end up liking the game and perhaps even more importantly find others to play against I'll pick up a couple Rebel core units, an AT-RT, and a T-47 to get up to 800 points.

I won't be able to preorder till after Christmas due to finances. I am going to start with 1 core set then I am debating whether to buy a second core or get a t-47 and at-st.

You normally get a small discount from a LFGS.

Also, FFG prints on demand, and base their initial print run off pre-orders from their distributors. So you may end up waiting for a reprint that could be delayed some time if the game is more popular than FFG expects.

My LFGS keeps a very lean stock. If I don't pre order, I may not get one until I ask for it.

Ah I see. I don't have a LFGS that I go to as I don't play games like this. I guess I better find one so I can find a community of players to play with. And if I find one I guess I'll pre-order from them.

Nothing yet. Waiting to see if they intend to do a "release event similar to RuneWars. Then what store I get to play at will get my business.

Having the community, or a friend to play with is vital. I have purchased many a great game but having no-one to play with makes the game far less great.

Actually I changed my mind. Just have have the Core Preordered.

I'll again see what its like community wise and pick up the rest from my FLGS as appropriate.

Not a bad idea, just to point out the obvious, but the simplest way to develop a community is to step up and develop a community. Jump on the guys at your FLGS and fix in an evening for play, jump into facebook and get some thing happening. In other words, don't look for this to be done on your behalf, go in there and get it done.
