Can I use abilities that are based on force while bowed?

By zentegin, in L5R LCG: Rules Discussion

Hello Everyone,

I read the rule that I can use abilities when a card is bowed as long as it does not require bowing itself but due to the rule stating bowed cards do not contribute force during conflict other players are arguing abilities like lions pride brawler cannot be used because it requires him to have equal or higher skill and he has none when bowed. Is this the case or does force still contribute to abilities when bowed and not conflict resolution?

Thanks for the help I can't find anything specific on this rule in the reference.

Bowed Characters still contribute force for abilities, it is only during conflict resolution that they do not contribute stats.

Similarly, same for duels. Bowed characters still have their total skill count when they enter duels.

Bowed characters do not contribute their skill during conflict resolution, not conflict in general.

Don't let cheaters nerf your LPB :)
