Chopper says "recover 1 shield."
R2-D2 says "recover 1 shield (up to your shield value)."
What does this mean? Can Chopper recover shields past his shield value?

Edited by AwesomeJediNo. Look up shields in the Rules Reference.
It will work just like every other regen card, up to your value. It will get a FAQ eventually to clarify. Now if it worked the other way, the 4 upgrade Ywing will really encourage slow rolling to build up the shields.
Better question - Can Chopper "eat" your adaptability, and "flip" it to the other side, changing your pilot skill to the other side's value?
NVM looked it up and it doesn't.

The wording on Scavenger Crane is abysmal.
Edit: And Tomax

Oh man, I had not considered Chopper on a YT with Smuggler's Compartments to get Scavenger crane.
Lose shields, eat a mod, scavenger crane to get the mod back. Eventually you can eat the scavenger crane if you have to.
edit: derp, that won't work because this chopper is a droid slot, not a crew slot.
Edited by streamdragonSo this is the exploit I have came up with.
So basically for 5 points you get +2 shields. Now anyone can tell you that regen will have more potential (for less I might also add in) than that combo so why 5 points? Especially since there is another upgrade card (not combo) that does almost the same thing for much less (and almost better one might add).
But given that Chopper SU combo takes at least 2 upgrades, the only good thing is that it makes each upgrade a shield. But another downside as well is chopper takes your actions which there is another 3 point droid that does the same and doesn't gut you while at it. So unless you are dressing up some sort of non stress warthog build this upgrade is pretty much DOA . Lucky for Chopper he has a <crew> upgrade which is better priced and has a more piratical use.
Edited by MarinealverTo be fair, for a TLT Y-Wing you could just strap guidance chips, bomb loadout, and chopper and get 2 shield regens for 1 point, that's not completely useless.
Could... you toss the BTL title on a Y-Wing to get your shield back and enabling you to fire out of arc?

You got that, but it is a slightly better version that Moff Jerrjerod since he doesn't recover damage just flip crits over (Hey FFG give him an errata to discard crits). But yeah you wan't to junk up a Y-wing to use chopper, but junking doesn't often make for good ship builds. TIE Shuttles have not been getting much play and you don't hear anyone complaining about trick shot or adaptability calling for them to be nerfed.

Yes, that works.

The article specifically mentions that as something you can do with Chopper. Which means that the next FAQ will change things so that it doesn’t work. Can’t have a preview article making suggestions that actually work.
