With Dawn of Rebellion announced, how long does everyone think it will take before we get a Clone Wars Era book? I've been wanting to do a Clone Wars campaign for a while now, but there don't seem to be much resources for it, and what resources there are, are all scattered across the various different books, and finding where they all are is a pain. Does anyone know if someone homebrewed a good Clone Wars supplement? I thought I heard a while back that someone was making one called "Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic", but nothing seems to have come of it.

Though, while I am on the topic, a Sequel Trilogy era or Old Republic era book would be cool too.

As much as I personally would want it, I sadly don't think it will ever come about. Disney has pretty much made itself quite clear that its keeping the Clone Wars era away with a ten-foot pole. Almost all new content is between the end of Episode III and before Episode VII.

For what it's worth, new canon has had two comics set during the Clone Wars, and we are getting Prequel-era content in Battlefront II. It feels like Disney has realized how many people like The Clone Wars, and they're growing more inclusive

It could be just that since the Clone Wars show is done, Disney wants to focus on eras that are supported by the current stuff on air and in cinemas.

If we aren't going to be getting an official Clone Wars book anytime soon, does anyone know if there have been any good homebrews done for the Clone Wars? I have surfed the dangerous waves of the Interwebs in search of such a homebrew, but have found nothing.

Several of us started tossing around some ideas for one, but as we worked, material we’d planned to include (Kaminoans as playable species, for example) were announced for upcoming FFG books, and it sort of fell by the wayside. Life getting in the way didn’t help, either.

Padawons start at +150 XP, but MUST have FR2, at least 1 rank of parry or reflect, and a rank in Discipline and Lore. The Jedi Order mentor gives the basic Move, Sence, Enhance and Influence powers for free, but provides no mentor discount for other powers. Also, you have the assistnce of a 4 skill 4 int droid, as well as equipment worth an extra success and advantage, when creating your lightsaber hilt. Use AoR duty "Contribution ranks" to get more stuff, not paydays.

Knights, same deal, but at +300 XP, and must have reached FR3. Feel free to mix FR2 padawons with FR3 knights at this XP count.

Clones have a 3/3/3/2/3/2 statline with no racial XP, (human with everything into stats) with Mando free skills (1 rank of combat skill or 2 ranks of knowlege skills), and get free "custom grip" mod on all their republic weapons and free "custom fitted" mod on all their republic armor.

B1s are 4 soak 4 wound minions with Inaccurate blaster rifles.

B2s are Dark Troopers with heavy blaster rifles instead of the normal gear. (8 soak scares clones, but a jedi 2-shots it with breach)

Droidikas are Inquisitors with Parry and Reflect. (ignoring the saber requirement)

Tactical droids are in the Commander book, and I still need to work on BX Commando droids.

Droideka already appear in one of the books, don't they? I'd say Magnaguards are closer to Inquisitors, and we already have Magnaguard stats in the core Force and Destiny book. BX Commando droids appear in the Age of Rebellion beginner guide. I'll try to find their stats real quick.

I feel that the droidika stats lowball them. Two of them sent a jedi master and a padawon on the verge of knighthood running the other way, and being surrounded by 3 means a jedi should surrender, any time it happens in the clone wars.

Magna guards are ALSO nemisis, but for melee combat.

Found the stats for the BX Commando Droid:

Brawn 3 Agility 3 Intellect 2 Cunning 1 Willpower 2 Presence 1

Soak 4 Wound 12

It's weapons should be a vibrosword and/or a blaster carbine.

EDIT : This is apparently how one would stat a "Rival" level BX Commando Droid, as it appears in the Age of Rebellion Beginner Game. There is also a "Minion" level BX found in Chronicles of the Gatekeeper:

Soak 5 Wound 5

Skills (Group only): Cool, Melee, Ranged Heavy, Ranged Light, Stealth

Now I'm thinking of mixing these two for the purpose of a Clone Wars campaign. Something like:

I do agree that the durability of the Droideka is a bit lower, but I'd say it's fine in all the other areas. I think the real issue is how the FFG Star Wars RPG treats shields in general. Shields should be like soak or armor, straight-up preventing damage. They shouldn't just add black die. I'm thinking of homeruling how shields on all things work to treat them like the Reflect talent. Just not sure yet exactly how I want to do it.

As for Droideka stats, 5/3/1/1/1/1 with 8 soak and 18 wound looks fine to me. It's got Gunnery 2, Perception 3, and Resilience 3, the most important of which is the Gunnery. It's Fire Sweep ability is terrifying (Make a 3 purple Gunnery check, if you succeed, deal one hit at base damage to up to two targets, plus one per advantage spent), especially when you factor in the weapon these things have. "Droideka heavy blasters" use Gunnery, deal 12 damage, crit 3, range long, auto-fire, linked, pierce 1, vicious 1. Their shield generator gives them two points of defense, which I feel is the only part of the Droideka that needs improved.

I found a homebrew a bit ago that made the rules for shields make a lot more sense. They made it mainly for ships, but I've been using it for personal shields as well.

It basically turns the shields into actual deflector shields, negating damage until the shields go down.

I just use the parry/reflect rules.
