Attaching Honored Blade to Opponents Character

By ma027108, in L5R LCG: Rules Discussion

Quick question came up:

1. During a conflict, the defender is going to lose so they decide to attach an Honored Blade to the opponents attacking character.

2. During conflict resolution the defending player claims an honor as the Honored Blade is their card, it is just attached to the opponents attacking character.

Is this correct? Please provide support to your ruling.

This is legal. Person who played honored blade controls it, and it can trigger based on what happens with the character, regardless of the owner. This is why things like Watch Commander and Court Mask have the clause "Play on a character you control", because without it, you could abuse the added effect.

That's what I thought, thanks!
