Wing broke off TIE Punisher, any way to fix?

By voltagejim, in X-Wing

I have one of those Feldhr cases, and I opened it the other day to notice one of the wings on my TIE punisher had broken off. Is there a way to get it back on with some sort of glue, or do I need to buy a new one?

any craft super glue will work... i like Hobby Lobby's in house brand... the yellow bottle

sweet, thanks!

I use this stuff:

It smells nice, it’s non-toxic, and it’s not very expensive. In my experience, it’s stronger than the plastic itself and definitely stronger than whatever glue FFG uses.

Can be found at a local hobby shop or on Amazon.

TIE Punisher needs a fix? Where have I heard that before. . .

Yes, it is quite refreshing to actually be talking about a literal TIE Punisher fix!

I broke a wing off a tie advanced spot of superglue and I can't tell you which of the four it was.

Or you could derpfender two: electric boogaloo.

I can second good old superglue

One of the z-95's back when I bought most wanted hadn't been assembled properly - the laser cannon hadn't been adhered to the wing & detached as soon as I got it out of the box.

But one quick dab of superglue (and a stable surface to rest the ship on whilst it sets) and I couldn't tell you which of the two it was even if I wanted to.

You could also use polystyrene cement to re-attach the wing if you wanted to: it will set stronger than most superglues, but it will take longer to set, and keeping the parts stationary as they set is much more important.

A few years back I broke the wing off my TIE Advanced. I super glued the wing back on, no problem.

The next day, FFG announced the Raider. You're welcome.

You play the punisher? Ok. Jk. Super glue and zip kicker.

It doesn't hurt to pin the wing, too. If you happen to have a small drill or pin vise, you can drill a small hole in both the wing and the body in the spots where they join, and use a small piece of wire. That will typically create a bit of a stronger hold.

If you don't have the stuff for it though, don't worry about it.

I've had a few TIE wings break off at the joint. Super glue and a pin keeps them right as rain.
