Who else is getting super hyped for the Mandalore Open next week??

Never been to a large tournament like this before.

Can't wait to play some X-Wing.

Not expecting many victories but I am looking forward to learning a few things and seeing how some real veterans play the game.

The possibility that the tournament doesn't even exist just adds to the mystery.

Mandalore was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories . It was the homeworld of the Mandalorians , a fearsome and warmongering people who fought the Jedi and raided their temple during the fall of the Old Republic . Wearing distinctive armor , they were feared throughout the galaxy , and had political influence over two thousand other star systems. Years of war left the planet inhospitable, forcing the Mandalorians to live within domed cities . A pacifist regime came to power at the end of these wars, led by Duchess Satine Kryze , while those who refused to give up their warrior ways were exiled to the moon Concordia . During the Clone Wars , the New Mandalorians were overthrown by Darth Maul's Shadow Collective , though the Galactic Empire would rule the planet after the war's end.

Against all of my better judgement I am seriously thinking about bringing these two guys set up with the list below.

Its the Mandalore Open after all......somebody has to have the guts to fly Boba Fett in his true Imperial form as a sign of respect.

Though I fully approve of the reference to old pre-prequel lore there.... Concordia. Concord Dawn.

Journeyman Jaster Mereel, I presume? Well the original one, not the new canon mandalorian that was a nod to the old myth.

It's hilarious tht this is next frigging week but the official announcement of the series and prizes hasn't actually gone up yet...

How many people typically show up to System Opens?

Anyone know what the rules are for Hanger Bay? 2017 or 2018? Duplicate cards allowed or no?

Typically in the hundreds. The biggest thus far have been over 400, both Yavins have been that size.

Hangar Bay will probably be Distinct Rule squads.

No tournament that small has a cloaking device!

So hyped that I’m speechless, kinda like FFG.

There is this page , the official FFG OP Events page, but it doesn't specifically mention the System Open series itself, it just has an entry for PAX Unplugged and a link to their event page, which lists the various FFG Star Wars games events going on there. It's a bit baffling we're this close to these events kicking off with no news at all. Star Wars Track regionals, other track Store Champs, System Open, they're all starting in the next 2 weeks and there's been not a peep out of FFG about them yet.

What we can at least glean from the event+prize info from the PAX Unplugged page is, the Coruscant Invitational is going to be a much bigger event this year. Open event winners get an invite, airfare and accommodations, but the open Top 8 all get invites(they'd have to get themselves to the event it seems), and theres' a secondary event going, the Hyper Space qualifier, where getting 6 wins similarly gets you an invite, with no accommodations.
