A new trilogy in the works?

I was kinda hoping with them winding down Rebels that he might be involved in the TV show idea.

He was recently promoted to head of the animation department at Lucasfilm, so I assume there's more Filoni-lead cartoons to come.

So cool: my thread about a new trilogy has devolved into ignorant ravings about acting and race. Do you guys possess any impulse control at all?

Be the content you want to see.

So you want cat gifs in your thread, okay.

Squirrels are trashy forest cats.

The Lucasfilm story group seem to be doing a pretty good job of keeping the canon consistent so far; there's been no jarring canon contradictions since Disney took the wheel. The approach they're taking seems much more healthy for a cohesive canon than Lucas' approach ever was.

I mean, I'm sure some cracks will start to show eventually but so far they're doing a pretty admirable job.

“From a Certain Point of View” contradicted itself 3 times.

Isn't that kind of the point? It's meant to be a book full of unreliable narration and dubiously canon stories. They've been pretty open about that since release.

will have to agree to disagree on this one, i have a great dislike for filoni, he does good work but as i said above i don't enjoy it when people completely alter concepts that were pre-established in the eu, and the parts of filoni's work where he takes things like the witches of danthomir and the mandalorians just leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Well, to be fair, that wasn't Filoni, that was Lucas. People don't realize Lucas drove every story arc in TCW, though he often took a "make it so" approach to managing it, leaving the detail to others. I agree our tastes will differ -- I despise most of the EU, so I was quite content with those changes, I find them richer and more interesting -- but blaming Filoni seems misplaced. Plus, the Mandalorian and Dathomir arcs were pretty small items in the scheme of things, I'm not sure how that outweighs everything else.

and if i'm being honest then i would likely very much enjoy seeing some work of filonis within star wars if it was something original rather than adaptations of preexisting stuff.

Again, this seems inaccurate. I don't see how Rebels, which is where Filoni pretty much had free reign (within the bounds of the story group), qualifies as "adaptations of preexisting stuff". Sure, there is some fan-service in there (Thrawn etc), but the overall story arc seems pretty fresh to me.

TLDR; you're blaming the wrong guy.

Yes I’ve heard this and you know you might be right but I still can’t help but feel that kind of way, I loved TCW but the alterations to these things that seemed small ended up having drastic ramifications on the makeup of the Star Wars universe and made certain stories all but impossible and bizarre,

and after having that thread discussing the reason why people hate Traviss it’s helped me to also articulate why I got beef with Filoni and with lucas, they changed settings and characterizations that had already been preestablished without any consideration for what was already come before in order to present things in their own version of things, just as Traviss did.

I know it could be argued that they had more of a right to as Lucas crated the original works and Filoni is his protege but that is how it feels to me, obviously though we won’t have the same opinion as you pointed out lol due to you hating the eu but that’s fine we don’t got to agree this is just the reason why I would prefer it to be completely new.

And yes I also love rebels but it is built on that same broken base for me as it has the same changes as tcw and continues to build on them. Hope that makes sense.
