Keeping Norra Alive

How do I keep Norra Wexley alive to the endgame now that I don't really have Biggs to count on?

Fly something else even scarier. A fat Kanan build, for example. They’ll want to shoot that before Norra anyway!

Or Dash...Or Rey...those can be much scarier than Norra.

So what'd be real nifty is if Rey wasn't such a great crew to use with her, because then you could substitute Biggs with Jess and Low packing some DTFs or Selfishness. I really dig the Predator Rey set-up, or at least did before errata, because having access to white maneuvers was so crucial to avoiding bombs

unfortunately, Rey being unique will leave Low without a way to modify his offense after reinforce (ideal Low being, for me, DTF + rey + c3po). Between Selflessness, DTF and Low's ability, you'd make targeting Norra a really unwise move.

who cares about harpoons? you'll just regen

rather, who cares about the splash compared to just losing Norra in one round

Scarier, yes (maybe?), but I'm thinking any opponent is just going to nuke Norra because she's an easier target.

Be maneuverable. VT helps a lot

Don't make her an easy target on the board and punish them with Dash if they go after her.

my favorite use of Norra, lets you arc dodge or disengage as needed, and you can stress/focus/boost/TL every turn

ive also good luck with Lando and R2 (just ditch APL and Hot shot off Dash... I put them there to punish range band jumpers... and they work, but still).

I'm thinking something like this, but I can't give up the regen on Norra. Basically Norra runs like crazy, every once in awhile throws a punch, and Dash kites

Don’t be timid with Norra. I’ve only played this pair in pick ups, but 5 modified reds can hit hard... and she cab regen and run well.... they’re 6-0 for me.

So I think I came up with something that might work! Maybe. What do you think?

The idea here is giving my opponent three viable if not better initial targets to shoot at besides Norra, who wants to survive until end game. I call this "My Three Biggs."

1) So going into the initial joust, if Norra is relieving stress from a previous PTL, then she can get a free evade (Jan Ors on Fenn), and then do her Focus+TL. If need be, Fenn can coordinate a TL to her at PS9. I'd rather not.

2) Fenn coordinates a TL to the Bandit at PS 9, and he should already have a focus token. I chose Concussion missiles because I hate Harpoons going off in my face - Concussion + Focus + Chips will equal 4 hits almost every time.

3) At start of combat Fenn gives PS 9 to Rex, and Fenn also nerfs one of the opponent's ships.

Now, the opponent must choose:

1) Shoot Rex because he is debuffing an attack at PS9.

2) Shoot Fenn because he is nerfing a ship every turn and coordinating.

3) Try to PS kill the Bandit before he puts 4 hits on someone.

4) Shoot at Norra because she's an end-game monster, but she'd evade one hit and regen another next round.

Once again, the idea here is to survive the joust and then create CHAOS. I think Norra is sold in chaos because she usually isn't getting focus fired on. While in chaos mode, if she gets blocked she'll still get a free focus token from relieving stress and Fenn can coordinate a TL at PS 9, which she can PTL off of to get a Jan Ors Evade.

I think it will work.

Biggs can still work against an alpha, or strategic use, but he won't help against ordnance. Lowhhrick will mitigate damage, paired with a selflessness ship still works. Everyone has given up on biggs, but he still has a place, and he still rolls 3/4 reds.

As others have said , having another heavy hitter helps, like Rey, and Boba's list has promise, but it could suffer from a good alpha.

Norra, for me usually is still darting around near the end game. I almost always fly her with R2D2, which helps.

My current build is; Norra and Dash.

Alliance Overhaul (which is a given until they release another title card, add a cannon would be handy), R2D2, Recon Spec., PTL and Engine upgrade.

Outrider title, Mangler Cannon, Jan Ors, PTL and Engine upgrade (not that Dash needs it most of the time, though it has come in handy).

With the above it does alright using Jan to give either ship an evade, though mainly for Norra. I'm not a big fan of turret weapons but as it is I don't have better combo. Maybe once I get hold of HotR and the Ghost etc..

At times she's flown with Nien Nunb for those green straights and speed.

Thanks for the neat ideas. Trying to get back into the game and These are all ships I already own and like to fly.

How do you survive to the endgame with Norra? Is there a particular turn zero setup or initial approach that helps you?
