Oh I know about Mel's. I keep staring at those models every second day. I have actually been thinking about getting Gunboats from him and using them as replacement for Gauntlet fighters once Chimera arrives.

You are thinking of the Katana Fleet from the original Thrawn trilogy. The fleet went missing sometime before the start of the Clone Wars, and Thrawn wanted them to greatly increase the size of his force (the Fleet consisted of 200 hulls, IIRC). They weren't exactly unmanned - they were slaved, so that only one ship actually needed to be crewed, and the rest could be controlled from it (at least as far as the navicomputer was concerned).

U-wing I would assume likely. But the others you mention? Just doesn’t seem likely to me.

You know, we still don't have the Emperor, somehow.

I predict if we get anything before March it will be a one-off, like a new campaign or a huge base ship.

they will likely hold off with a new Wave till GAMA, and even that’s not guaranteed.

Odds are good we will get something before May, with a late Summer/early fall release, and the possibly another Wave around GENCON with a Christmas release.

Thanks like I said my memory is awful about things I read many moons ago.

I'm still surprised they didn't include a pair of U-wings with the Profundity. It would have mirrored what they did with the Chimaera nicely.

Oh well, here's to hoping there is a Wave VIII!

I’m going to second this prediction. Both of these are among the few canon ships we still don’t have in game and packaging a squadron with a small ship makes sense since you’re far more likely to buy duplicates.

At very least I hope we’ll get the Braha’Tok. They’re the last thing I need to accurately recreate Scarif and Atollon.

The Dorean gunship has actually gotten cumulatively quite a bit of screen time. You see them in VI, Rogue One, and Rebels. They now have more screen time then B-wings.

Well the Gunships were dedicated combat warships, so i'd expect them to have a heavier battery and A/S armament and better shields. A brace token would be nice too...

The old EU background was they were CR-90's more geared towards combat. Think WWII sub vs. destroyer in terms of space and amenities. They were also very good at AA. So something like 2 black or blue in front and sides, and 2 blue or red AA.

That’s a fair point. Although I don’t think the blink & miss it appearance in Ep6 really qualifies.

On a separate note, I don’t get the whole Tector & wingless Liberty angle. Seems pointless to me. I really don’t want another variant on a ship we already have nor another ship that looks quite similar to exist ships (mon cal ships)

Even though they could be controlled remotely, the Katana Fleet ships still needed crew to keep things running and actually do stuff - but due to the heavy automation and slaved systems, only needed a crew in the region of 2,000 rather than the 16,000 a full dreadnought needed. So somewhere between the 1,000 ish a Neb B needs and the 40,000 on an ISD (just to use the other ships at the Battle for the Katana Fleet).

Dreadnoughts aren't nearly big enough to take on an ISD; in the Thrawn books 3 Katana-fleet ships can keep an ISD busy with all their ion batteries, but aren't a match overall. To give a sense of scale, the AFMkI is a heavily-modified dreadnought, and the AFMkII a heavily-modified AFMkI. So a dreadnought should be a medium-base ship at most.
