One year, one release

Why should they bother to join our community, when forefront on our minds is how poor off we are?

This this this this. I think we can all acknowledge (and have, for weeks) that we want something. Given the fact that we're probably not seeing anything on Black Friday, I think it's time for some other constructive threads. Not about what we want, or deserve, or any of that. We've made those threads and our points known. Now let's start discussing other topics of value.

At the very least, we're already showing a VERY negative front to people who are coming here for the first time...

People are a result of their environment.

My store is holding regionals in 5 days and we still don't have the kit.... Talked to the store owner, multiple e-mails have been sent to FFG, his distributor, and to his personal asmodee rep. Still no idea if it'll even be there on time.

Meanwhile the community itself hasn't got an updated FAQ, in 130 something days, and for that matter haven't been addressed but in passing since august.

It's a shame there's so much negativity during such a POSITIVE time for the game itself, but there's a lot of negative interactions going around.

So I should just give up, right?

Fine.

Done.

I truly dislike some of the venting I’ve seen. My goal isn’t to be angry or radical. I just want to be peaceful. Surely we can agree that this is a positive trend in outlook no matter what views you may have on the thread. As for new players, this is a great chance to show them the engaged, dedicated community that exists. They’ll eventually notice the lack of FFG presence anyway. But yes, our point has probably been made. Several times. Maybe we are beating a dead horse by now. :P

Anyone have anything on how to fix Arquitens?

Not at all, I'm not going to, but ultimately there's got to be a level of acceptance when it comes to communities. Not everyone is happy, and many feel like being silent about it is merely accepting it.

Does that mean we shouldn't encourage positive conversation? Absolutely not.

But you realistically can't expect there not to be dumpster fires under these conditions.

I'm all for positive forum topics.

This is a great community and we have several great content producers among us.

I am not blessed with this ability, my talents are more along the lines of reasoning, argument, and presenting a lists of grievances.

So that's why I usually hang out in the negative topics and the rules forum, and why I think you and I are prone to disagreement @Drasnighta . :)

I think there have been one or two incendiary things said, but that doesn't moot the complaints of a large segment of the community.

Disagreement and criticism shouldn't be mistaken for negativity if they're presented in a constructive way, and on the other hand people disagreeing and making criticism should take extra care to make sure they don't cross the line.

I will yield that that is a valid concern. The immediate counterpoint is of course that the handful of threads discussing this are not the majority of the front page, and that they are counterbalanced by other factors in this community most incoming gamers with previous experience will recognize and appreciate. The Vassal World Cup is spinning up for the third year running, indicating a well-connected community always willing to create new experiences for itself. New posters are met positively, and with constructive advice, whether on the main forum or in the fleet builds rules forum. And while we are far from perfect and can be undignified, this is probably the most positive and least flame-prone community I've ever encountered. These are all positive things that even the slightest glance and thought should notice. And if the glance is not serious enough to notice them, I have to question if I want a person so prone to either shallowness or immature reactions in this community.

As far as positive topics are concerned, I do not believe anyone on here, this thread or otherwise, will ever object to positive, constructive topics. I've been approached a couple times about How To Large (Especially Dual) so if I get a chance over Thanksgiving I will try to write something up. @Megatronrex and I threw up a semi-joke topic a couple days ago that quickly slipped off, so if someone wants to restart that one, by all means.

That's not what he said. He is making a valid critique, as others such as myself, @FoaS , @Eggzavier , @Megatronrex , and others have. If you no longer wish to engage with this element of the community that is your prerogative. It would be to the detriment of all, yourself included I would imagine. However, there are those of us who have had our patience tried and tested by FFG as we have patiently waited and pleaded with them to adjust what we see as unwise or otherwise harmful either to the game or the community. This is a stressful time of year for most Westerners, so I would implore everyone to do their best to not let their outside lives and stressors unduly influence the board on here. I would also implore everyone to remember what @Eggzavier just said that I'm too lazy to quote, dismissal and disagreement are two vastly different things, and we would all be wise to remember that the difference is not only there, but an important one for discussions to move forward.

True. But I think if we had a taskforce to give reroll a I would take 3 all the time.

What do you mean fix? If you're concerned about anemic maneuverability, JJ has you covered, with ET and Redundant Shields to taste. If it's stopping power, singles with Needa and TRC do work, as do multiples with combinations of Intel Officer, Vader, and Enhanced Armament.

Yea but a lot of those options are expensive to run.

If examined individually, the only one that isn't is Needa/TRC. However, given that JJ and Vader are commanders, and that the other upgrades are all optional, I really don't think they're that bad. I'd also like to posit that in my experience, two or three is a poor number. The Arqs need to smoothly fit into the rest of the fleet, and don't really provide enough durability or firepower individually to warrant being a fleet centerpiece, but they are cheap enough to either be a one-off support platform or be spammable like I think Crabbok tried one time.

Buddy of mine ran this last friday and won.

Once those DF tokens started falling off those kittens hitting for 3-4 damage each time were kinda mean I guess.

*gasp* Does this mean we’ve finally found a use for targeting beacons ?

I was playing TB before it was cool. Way back in January with Sato.

I actually use TBs all the time. It's a seemingly painless choice a lot of players choose. Works great for my fleet with 2 VSDs. Extra rerolls never hurt.

@Drasnighta whilst I am in the first group like yourself, I must point out that FFG have demonstrated in the past and til this day that they can and willingly hop into the second group. And not even through the forums (because oddly enough those forums are dead) but through community ran facebook pages (e.g Netrunner Dorks) ,their own personal twitter/facebook accounts and through multiple community podcasts.

People see this and will naturally get upset when they don't see it happening for their system.

Wait, arqs need help? Where?

I run three with Intel officers, slaved turrets, and Vader with gozanti fighter cover. Not a lot can withstand firepower of that magnitude.

Two slaved turrets arqs, Demo, and AvengerBT fit into a single Vader list (with a light fighter screen.) Coincidence? I think not.
