One year, one release

I recall that there was a fan-made version of that kind of turn-sequence document.

If someone can link it to me, I'll make a proper and pretty PDF with all the bells and whistles of the timing of a turn, do it all info-graphic-like.

Do you mean this ?

Where's this big Armada news they can't wait to show us?

If they can't wait, why are they waiting?

Yes I love how they say they have will have news for us soon. I assume their definition of soon means we will get an update in January or February 2018.

Then someone has beaten me to the punch, sweet.

Sad that fans need to put this together instead of the writers of the game...

The news is that we're all fools for waiting

I want to click like but this makes me sad because it's likely true.

Meanwhile, I'll keep playing this game and having fun because there are so many options. Our local community is growing and I've recently gotten into vassal. However, I've only been playing for 10 months, so I can understand the frustration coming from the vets.

Soon......

Soon.......

Some of us also feel like its not as needed.

For one, Armada lacks a lot of the statement that X-Wing has... The core of the problem for X-Wing was, for example, effects that trigger after or during an attack, but then had attacks that were perform this attack twice . Or even more fun, " perform when this attack misses ", but then attack twice and only count it as a hit if one or more of the attacks fail to miss ... What is a miss?

90% of the Upgrade cards and upgrade usage in Armada is settled by the use of the timing keywords. Unfortunately, the timing keywords and when they apply to the Attack Portion of Armada is something just generally overlooked or not comprehended .

The closest issue we have with Armada is "Attack" meaning "one of the two things you can do from different hull zones" while also meaning "going through the attack flowchart"... (Salvo vs Attack has been touted as my, unfortunately, far too late solution)... and the issues raised by that have been FAQ answered (Overall with "each squadron attack is a new attack") and Slaved Turrets, specifically.

I mean, for sure, it makes it easier to have something like that on there. And I don't disagree that people really like it - but I also disagree that it is imperative for it to be released officially for Armada.

Its actually the perfect thing for fans to do instead of the writers. Because the fans who need it, can use it.

There is only a small portion of cards that really need the advent of a full timing chart. And most of those had greater issues that needed to be solved as well... (Looking at you, RLB).

Always looked at, never chosen.

I went through some product pages and gathered up some article counts. Sorted by number. (EDIT: these numbers are articles for that game, as shown on the product -> all news link since January of 2017) This also includes Organized Play and Championship articles that also happen to be tagged with that game.

Runewars Minis: 76
SW Xwing: 55
GoT TCG: 52
L5R TCG: 50
SW Destiny: 40
Arkham Horror TCG: 39
SW Imperial Assault: 23
Netrunner TCG: 22
SW Force and Destiny: 19
SW Age of Rebellion: 17
SW Armada: 15
Mansions of Madness: 13
SW Edge of the Empire: 11
GoT Iron Throne: 10
SW Legion: 7
Elder Sign: 8
Eldritch Horror: 8
SW Rebellion: 8
Battle for Rokugan: 3
Runebound: 3

For armada, if I removed the Organized Play and Championship articles, I get 7. If I take out the "this is a rules update announcement" articles, it goes to 5.

The ****, FFG.

Does that include today's Rokugan and L5R Articles?

Can you elaborate a little more in your methodology? 15 is far below Armada's lifetime total.

It does indeed

I went to the product page for several games. I then clicked on "all news" and counted the number of articles since January of 2017 - sorry, I didn't realize I didn't make it clear that this is all in the last year - I will edit my post accordingly.

You're ok, that's why I asked. That also seems like much more reasonable figures then, in addition to be infinitely more irritating.

Man I hope 2018 will be the year of massive Armada drops. Looking at you SSD.

That seems like too few for Legion, I swear they had 7 just in one afternoon.

I see 7, 5 of which were in 2 days of each other.

I'm not calling your numbers into question or anything, but just FYI, there has been at least one case of Armada articles being labelled incorrectly or just not labelled at all (I seem to recall that one of the W4 articles, specifically, wasn't showing up in the keyword search because of this). That may be the source of the disconnect here, if there was a mis-labelled Legion article.

Right on - and I'm picking up what you're putting down, but even then, and I think you'd agree? with article or two being misplaced, the numbers are still discouraging.

No disagreement here.

So 2017 was totally THE WORST year for Armada.

So few releases, so little in terms of communicating with the player base.

A big 'shame on you' to FFG Asmodee for rotten support of my favorite game.

"FFG’s new and existing product lines will continue to be developed by FFG and sold under the FFG logo. FFG will stay a fully independent publisher in the Asmodee Group, and intends to keep creating the best games possible. A few of FFG’s products, whose identity may be deemed a better fit under a different Asmodee Group brand, may transition within the group."

So, FFG.

I think FFG has had it's staff go under the Assmodee microscope and knife and that is part of the problem with many of their franchises. Unfortunately Armada is not the only game to have it support be rather anemic in the last year.
