Head-to-head I'm sure the advantage is hugely with the Imp alpha list.
But I'm pretty sure that this list is better positioned against the wider metagame and would win a lot of games that Imp Alpha would lose.

Sooo...what's this weak against? Possibles are...
PS11 is definitely awful, I'm not at all sure about Wookies and RAClo being particularly bad matchups - I'd need to play them.
Ion Brobots I think would be tricky. They can control engagement range & position very well and once they Ion you you're at their mercy. If you don't kill one of them very quickly I think you're in trouble. You don't see that list very often though as it's tough to fly well.
I'm sure there are some weak matchups, though.
Maybe a Dash/Rey/Dengar with countermeasures that can cancel one of the locks and probably knock Airen out in the first round.
PS11 is a matchup that I've faced twice and won both - but mostly due to my opponents making mistakes so I could outfly them.
I lost Wedge in the opening joust each time, but only when the 3rd ship at PS10 fired so I still got simultaneous fire off, trading Wedge for Vader plus a damage on each of QD and Inquisitor - Wedge being already dead and also the only ship in QD's arc.
Hence the 'outfly' remark.
The only time I've faced a list with an Auzituck in, I won whilst flying Porkins.

Dash with Countermeasures and Poe with Black One would be very hard - for me, at least.

A triple or quad wookie list would likely lose one on the opening exchange, but they could easily melt Wedge or Airen in return. As the wookie player, I'd probably try to kill Wedge. Airen wouldn't be scary for wookies afterwards, they might struggle against Nym, though.

I faced a regen Poetensity list with my original version and didn't have much of a problem. I don't recall if he had countermeasures, probably not, but I mostly whiffed on my ordnance shots on Dash anyway.

Beat Rey twice and Dash once. Not a problem. You can sidestep Countermeasures a bit with Airen's ability - played against Countermeasures twice and and it never made a difference.

So you lost Wedge 3 times and Airen once. That's a good run.

Nice tournament report, what all was in that double Lancer list?

I'm pretty sure about that. Not so sure what illicits he had.

**** yeah! Great blog post!
As I read that, it was like my own experience with the same three pilots . Every game showed me a new wrinkle I could utilize. I probably killed just as much stuff at range 1 initial engagements as I did with missiles. My version back then was considerably worse. I seldom got 4 or 5-die attacks with the cruise missiles, I often fired them with 3-dice simply to avoid the extra evade die. I barely used R3-A2, but he was there more as an Attani counter at the time...of which I saw none. It's hard to argue with the results I had with Accuracy Corrector, though. That ABT/AC combo plus bomblets created such a "no fly" zone around Nym, it was ridiculous. That was in a pre-nerf Genius time, though, so I'm not sure if I still like AC over Rey crew anymore. There's is the possibility of just saying "YOLO!" with Genius and discarding the bomblet generator to bomb someone at the end that keeps getting blocks...probably not a great idea, but it's there. Rey is more versatile and ensures a more consistent alpha strike, but AC has it's own level of consistency. When Nym can just chase stuff and do 2 auto damage in the end game, that's scary.
I ended up shelving the list partly to try new stuff (moved on to triple wookies!) and partly because it felt too good for casual local play. Not triple jumpmaster "you can't play" good, but "you lost a third of your list, and likely the game, on the opening engagement" good. That said, I think I am going to revive it with some proxies of the future. I do think with some practice that the FAA could outshine BB-8 for Wedge, so I might as well put that to the test!

Edited by gennataosWait. Is Wes better than Wedge? I don't really think he is, particularly compared to the final punch Wedge can put through in the firing cycle.

Edited by gennataosHej,
i really like thé build and will try it for sure !!!
i made 2changes with the new extension to come...
guess That chopper could help wedge to stay (for an action but guidance and adaptability could be discarded for 2 shields / 2 rounds...).
and trajectory simulator will help in breaking formations for thé initial engagement for sure // or it will push 1/2more damages...
what do you think?

Chopper. Yuck! Flight Control Mech maybe.
Trajectory Simulator may be fun, but I don't think it's worth losing Rey for.

I don't know...it's something I'd considered. Wedge needs to have shots the whole time he's alive, though, so I don't know if taking a regen Chopper action is ever going to be the right choice.
Kanan/Lowhrick might be a problem for this list I think. You could alpha lowhrick off the table before he can fire (a correct thing to do I think) but then you'd still need to chew through 15 hps (he'll be damaged once by harpoons) of Kanan and then 4 hps of shuttle while eating 4/5 dice primaries and/or TLTs. Kanan may be able to take out Airen and Wedge in a single turn each and Nym won't be able to hold on for that long either, so it might get rough. Other than that though - great list. Z-95 and a T-65 without IA to boot. Who would have thought eh?
I would go for Kanan first for sure, and it's probably a fairly easy matchup I think? You just control range - R3 alpha, then BB8/Nym get into Kanans donut.
There will be tough matches but I don't think that's one of them.

Thanks for the writeup. I have been playing almost the same setup with Horton instead of Nym (and consequently more bloat on Wedge). It also was pretty strong by virtue PS10 alpha striking, but the chassis aren't efficient enough versus imperial alpha strike, which constituted my loss in the tournament I tested the list out. Nym is just superior, which makes me kinda sad, it was cool having more movie ships on the table than not. Guess I'll swap Nym in if I want to continue on this rebel alpha strike journey...

You could run it with Horton in place of Wedge?
Horton Salm - Synced Turret, Plasma Torpedo, Guidance Chips, R2-D6, Veteran Instincts.

Sure, but Wedges ability is better in an alpha strike and with BB-8 he is a better midgame option in my opinion. Horton really only becomes better if you manage to get the TLT on him, but at that point he is 36-37 points and won't fit with Nym, who really is the best PS10 Harpoon Missile carrier rebels have. My list was this:
Airen Cracken (19)

Harpunen-Rakete (4)

Wedge Antilles (29)

And literaly the only point where it has an advantage is that it can get an initiative bis like I chose to. Other than that it maxes out at one less damage, has more flimsy chassis, less aoe damage...
Hmmm, Horton's rerolls do help him close some of the gap to Wedge's agility loss. He'll get 4 hits more often (96% vs 73%). And then he has a turret while Wedge has to BB-8 for arc.
He's worse, but not unplayably worse if you've got a Y-Wing fetish.
