Seriously what is up with Wave 7?

They might make AT-ATs. Too early to call that yet.

A smaller AT-AT will look silly. A larger one will ve expensive to make and ship and have an eye watering price. It isn't going to happen.

I will buy into a smaller scale proper legion game which will inevitably be announced in 2019. This game is the wrong scale. No doubt fun and will sell well but ultimately won't quite scratch that large scale land battle itch. FFG are betting the farm on it and are throwing the other SW games such as Armada and IA under the bus to make it succeed. That is a massive PR mistake.

See, people say this, and I remain skeptical. FFG is a large company. Launching Legion, especially if they want to avoid the Runewars trickle death is undoubtedly a large feat, but I really doubt it's that much if their resources. Now, tag in X-wing, TI 4, FFI, L5R, whatever else they're doing I neither know nor care about, that's probably straining their ops department. (Where PR got lost is a great question.)

Re: Legion, I think we've seen enough to know it will easily be moddable up to whatever scale your heart desires. You may still need to develop the AT-AT on your own, and that command card system probably goes to ****, but let's wait for it to launch before we call this rocket a explosion on the pad, sound good?

WotC did it for $100 and it was about 12 inch. To make it in scale, it would need to be 2.616x as tall as the AT-ST, and if rumors are true, the AT-ST is about 6 in tall, putting the AT-At at 15.69inch.

All within the realm of possibility.

I wish they would just say if there will be at-ats or not. I may buy the game but I would be buying it under the assumption that they will deliver at ats. Just like I think an ssd is still coming to Armada.

And there we have our answer, boys and girls. No Armada under the Christmas tree this year

thx for that.

well, you cant mess up more than how ffg handles Armada. In the meantime, there is a ... qualifier article for Destiny and whatnot, but still no mentioning of International Regional dates...really. Really?

But indirectly now it seems clear that the new stuff is not usable for the Regionals. Great way to communicate that to the most active customers.

There better is an SSD around the corner.

Well nice to know I won’t have my toys for Christmas. **** shame though I have ffg step up their game and get the waves out on time next time

That's a pretty big assumption: look at the best selling miniatures games, and you notice a trend.

There's FFG's spaceships (X-Wing, Armada), there's many games at similar scales to Legion (40k, WMH, Infinity), and there's RPG miniatures.

Something like a 15mm game doesn't show up until fairly far down the list. Legion is a pretty safe bet to make a bunch of money, something at a dramatically smaller scale is not.

No Armada wave 7 for Christmas? There's gonna be one sad armada player staring forlornly at the Christmas tree this year. Still they did say "early this year", so maybe i'll have it by the time my birthday rolls around :)

You're probably right, although they will get round to an Epic scale eventually.

It's just a crying shame that Armada doesn't sell as well as XW even though it has a more interesting ruleset.

The same could be said of 40k Epic (originally marketed as Horus Heresy a very long time ago). It had a much better ruleset but sales were tiny in comparison to 40k and its forever changing and never quite complete ruleset.

Still not interested in Legion and still think the scale (or at very least the name) is wrong but I'm sure they'll sell a bucket load.

I just wish FFG would grow a pair and report the delay officially on the website instead of sneaky tweets.

Also, if both Legion and the new Armada ships miss Christmas, thats a big hit on their bottom line for the busiest time of the year. If they hadn't gone all out with Legion, would wave 7 have arrived on time? We'll never know.

Legion was never intended to be a Christmas Release.

It was always going to be a New Year release.

Alex Davey at GenCon only mentioned on the first day that they were going to try for Christmas, and basically - that was a false and misleading statement. All documents before and after that point have been revealed to show that Legion was never intended to be a Christmas release.

Now, Armada. Well. Who knows. Between the Legion setup and X-Wing being pushed forward , we probably won't know.

Interesting theory. The whole reason why an xwing wave got moved up for a double release was because the armada order was missed or not submitted in time?

It would make sense for FFG to switch Armada and the X-Wing releases. X-Wing will make more money than Armada will. Simple as that. If I had to make the most amount of money in the shortest amount of time, I'd do the same thing. It's likely X-Wing and Armada share the same production line and they just swap out molds.

It's just **** for us, the smaller community, to have to wait.

Welcome to 36 hours ago.

I'm past disappointment, anger, frustration and apathy. I've entered the optimistic stage so normal service is now resumed.

I completely disagree with a few comments saying that Armada is the ugly kid in the family of FFG.

That's completely wrong and totally unfair for the real ugly kid : Descent
Armada is just the twin sister of Descent :) :)

Mmm.. ****, I play both of them...

Armada was late to be announced, too. We didn't make Gencon. I wouldn't assume we were ready to go and got intentionally shelved to get X-Wing out, even if we could pinpoint a business case for doing so.

My guess would be they were able to move X-Wing up because Armada was delayed, not the other way around.

They already had a Christmas release, having the TLJ wave miss opening night wasn't going to totally crash holiday X-Wing shopping. I've never been entirely clear on how many people that don't play X-Wing purchase ships (for aesthetic reasons or whatever else) other than that it's more than strictly zero, but for everyone who plays, there was already an appropriate X-Wing stocking stuffer, and the TLJ wave was going to drop while the film was still culturally relevant (early 2018) anyways.

My inner Occam's razor tells me they encountered a problem on the design process critical path, struggled to deal with it, and slipped their own announcement and release date goals; with the delay freeing up a block on the printing schedule for X-Wing.

It could be worse.

It could be worse look at imperial assault. Nothing in the pipeline and not even any certainty that its still continuing in the face of legion.

Isn't the app in the pipeline?

Is it? Is there an article or something?

Only the statement it was still being worked on at GenCon. It was right around the something big statement for Armada.

So.... as much as i like IA and hope it continues to thrive, i think the point stands that we are in a better position looking forward...

Of course, tomorrow they could just as likely announce another big box IA wave.
