Hi guys,

Messing with a Brath/Maarek Defenders list, i decided to use this:

Double Edge ps4
TIE Aggressor
-Light Weight Frame
-Unguided Rockets
-Synced Turret
-Deadeye
Total = 28

As a filler ship.
I still haven't used my TIE/ag, and even i find it dull, this build looks interesting enough.

My questions/comments:
-No TLT. I prefer not to use it, even though it's the best turret, and offers the best range complement.
-Have anyone tried this build, or similar? Any tips?
-It's better to switch Synced for Ion turret? Is Synced Turret really bad, or is just TLT/ion better options?
-Obviously, D.E prefers to keep arc, so he/she can benefit from UR+ST attack, in that case it's better to attack first with UR, not spend the Focus token, and then attack with ST?

With Deadeye, you're paying the same as the ion turret, but rerolls to hit without spending that token makes it a good 'first shot' weapon for double edge's ability.

It's a matter of taste, I guess.

• If you attack Synched Turret/Unguided Rockets, then you get rerolls on the turret followed by focus on the rockets - meaning both are fairly credible attacks.
• If you attack Unguided Rockets/Synched Turret, then you get an unmodified rockets attack followed by a double-modified turret shot.
• This is more likely to deliver a miss on the first shot followed by a hit on the second - but the only time this is an advantage (as opposed to just firing the turret with both mods and being done with it - is if you think shot #1 is going to force your opponent to expend a once-per-turn ability.

I don’t get enough playtime to waste space in my lists with ships I find dull. If you have that kind of time, good for you. Granted, you say you haven’t played with it yet, so I guess you don’t know for sure.

I enjoyed Double Edge with a build very similar to yours. It just got PS killed without making a meaningful contribution to the game. I think the trick to making Double Edge work is flying it with friends too dangerous to ignore. Otherwise a fully-loaded Double Edge is just low-hanging MoV fruit.

Thanks for the feedback. That's why i asked. Yup, in arc, seems a better idea to shoot the turret first, with the rerolls, and then UR with the focus.

I seemed to forgot that you don't have to waste the focus when attacking with Synced Turret, so i was afraid of losing it for the Unguided.

I have even less, one of the downsides of having kids...

I forgot to point that i just play with friends, not even LGS, so no need for really competitive lists.

Also, as i don't have many experience, i prefer to keep this simple, so i don't forgot things.

When i said that i find it dull, i mean uninspiring, because it's just a TIE with a turret, and right now I've decided to not use turrets as long as i could.

But I only bought it for collection, that's why i haven't used it yet, in the few games after purchasing it.

Though, this build of Double Edge seems quite interesting, keeping in mind that prefers to keep things ir arc.

I have played this a couple times. the problem I have run into is once they figure out you are locked into taking a focus and they are good at blocking you, you are in trouble.

Yeah, i know you are really dependent on arc/focus action, but as jmswood said, if they focus on my filler ship and leave my (in that case) defenders alone, i won't have any problem.

The TIE Aggressor seems like a missed opportunity to me. The Aces come a bit too cluncky and there are not too many interesting options. And that all in the not uninteresting package of a rather agile ship with a turret slot. I whish they would give him a Title with an interesting ability that pushes the turret or the secondary weapons generally when fired in arc.

I thought that as well, and mind you this was before the great FAQ of October 2017, but I ran into paratini with Asajj, rau and a bumpmaster. I was able to handle rau with my defenders but when i turned to attack Asajj she would run away and when i went after the bump master Asajj came in behind me and ate my lunch.

But like I said this was pre FAQING and YMMV.

Thanks for the advice for the forming meta... But my meta is limited to a group of friends, with very limited games (kids), and only one Jumpmaster in the whole group!

But it's good to know as my listed Double Edge is veeeery sensible to stress and bumping.
