To answer your actual question, Genesis only tells you to assign tokens, not remove them, so your evade can stay right where it is.

if you have 1 evade token, you cannot assign some number of evade tokens to get to the point where you have 0 evade tokens, and the general rule says that you don't do what you cannot do, even if the effect says that you must do it
