"For Rokugan"?

By Andre Bigler, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

The World Champion decklist show two copies of a card named "For Rokugan"... I can't recall this card and can't find it in any preview or database. Anyone knows which card is it?

Huh, there's not another "For ..." card, and nothing with "Rokugan" in the name, so it's not a typo of some other card.

Hmm, apparently it's "Banzai."

EDIT: Nope, because "Banzai" is already there...

Then the deck would be running 5 copies.

Banzai is on that list too though.

I wonder if it is Banzai though. At some point in writing out the deck list he decided to drop it from x3 to x2, and rewrote it as For Rokugan. Pure speculation, but otherwise the conflict deck is at 43 cards.

This list also has the number of Rout and Strength in Numbers swapped. Source: I played him, and therefore saw his decklist.

Possibly a reference to the missing Banzai chant?

It isn’t any card, just a joke. Count the cards in the conflict deck. He didn’t use that many

It seems the Scorpion have manipulated his deck list to either make us think he cheated or to prevent us from seeing the key card he used against them...

I think it's supposed to be Honored Blade?

Counting the cards, he has 43 conflict cards, which, although legal, seems weird.

Maybe those 2 are no cards at all, and were just added as a joke?

Can I ask where this was posted? This might help in figuring out the mystery.

Huh.

That does seem weird. I can only imagine two scenarios:

  • He was making a joke about the chant and nobody at FFG caught it (potentially disqualifying him for an invalid deck list)
  • FFG added it as a sneaky spoiler or joke

The second one seems more likely.

or c) Janice from Accounts who writes FFG's Xwing articles (that is my head canon as to why the articles *always* have at least one glaring error) doesn't know a thing about L5R either and while tasked to make the graphic, she had no idea she made a mistake before posting it.

Man, you shouldn’t call Janice from accounts out like that...

On the topic of decklists, are the decklists for the top of clan players available anywhere? I'm particularly curious about Phoenix.

I don’t know how many others including myself have asked that. There hasn’t been an ‘official’ response from FFG concerning this question.

I just asked that question in the Deck Lists thread, 'cause I wanna see 'em too.

Also, if we're inquiring to the original deck list, what stronghold was Lion using for this? I know it was a Keeper role, because of his influence value, but I don't have the previous roles in front of me.

**** no. Janice knows that was my cupcake in the employee lounge. It had my name on it.

Yojin no Shiro is the only Lion stronghold in the game so far.

I'm sorry, I meant Role.

I'm pretty sure I saw him play Honored Blade in the semi's and I don't see it on the decklist anywhere.

I'm guessing Janice was still caught up in the hype and the "For Honor, For Glory, For Rokugan" chant was still in her head and she saw For Greater Glory on the list saw the word honor in Honored Blade and just instinctively wrote For Rokugan down.

So Janice used to be an asst. editor at Marvel?
