Is it really even pewter then ?. Quantities of tin are also not a great idea, and if it has no tin, it certainly isn't pewter.

Glass bottles all the way. You can bust them off on the table edge for an improvised knife if the game doesn’t go your way.
Also, glass seems to interfere less with the taste of fluids than metal and plastic containers.
