The Scorpion Tanker and Backhanded Compliment

Then why was there even a need to bring it up? Like I said, arguing just to argue. If you need to step away, have at it. Also, I kick puppies.

I'll be getting back on topic now, rather than addressing the personal attacks against me by people that feel slighted for some reason.

I knew it. Let this be a lesson to all of you. Never trust a cat person! :P

I love how if you don't like this keeper/seeker rule the only options you have are : A. Quit. B. Start a fringe community that does its own thing. C. Spend thousands of dollars to get to a card tournament next year and hope you're good enough to bless an entire player base with your genius.

This rule is silly and unnecessary.

  1. Denial - I'm not playing with this rule!
  2. Anger - This rule sucks!
  3. Bargaining - Hey Hatamotos, pick a better role? Please?
  4. Depression - I'm going to quit this **** game.
  5. Acceptance - It's a rule. Whatever. Let's just play.

Hey now, I'm a cat person. Besides, as one of my most respected and trustworthy professors taught me, Hitler and Stalin were both anti-cat people. So there. :P

This changes everything between us Zesu. I can no longer trust you. I still like you and enjoy interacting with you on these forums, but, I can no longer trust you. Is Zesu even your real name? What else have you lied to me about? :P

You guessed it, it's really an anagram for Zeus.

Oh, and... I'm not really your father. :P

random cat tangent makes more sense than any argument in favor of the keeper/seeker rule. Mind you I don't even play Scorpion this rule is just dumb from the get go. I'm glad finally people see it too.

I'm implying that I don't necessarily believe that that was your motivation, or his, yes.

Neither of you are anything but names on a forum to me, and people do way shadier things in these games all the time. The name calling isn't really necessary just because I might not believe you or disagree with you. Grow up.

Seeing you're the one who are calling somebody a liar, I don't think you're in a good place to protest about name calling.

Crap you mean I'm stuck with the one I already have..............way to get my hopes up man. And here I was thinking of all the things I could do if my father was fricken Zeus.

D. Embrace Mono no Aware and take it like a samurai. Accept the restrictions of the Winter Court and play your best game given what you DO have, rather than lamenting what you do not. The almost guaranteed extra fate certainly makes Fate Worse Than Death feel less painful. For me.

So you're saying: "shut up and take it!" Gonna have to go a hard "No" on that one. But your concern is appreciated. Also sorry I'm not a fictional character that has to follow archaic rules of life. I'm a paying costumer who see's a flaw in a product (mind you this is my only complaint) and would like it rectified. Because beyond : "SHUT UP AND TAKE IT" the defenders to this dumb rule has yet to give me evidence as to why it should stay in place.

I didn't call anyone a liar. I think you know that though.

On topic:

Scorpion players - Will you be auto-including Pilgrimage and Shameful Display to take advantage of the role card, or will you mostly ignore it?

Have there been any solid previews of new Void provinces? What Seeker-only cards are you excited about?

But..you quoted exactly what I said, clearly showing that I never called anyone a liar. So...thanks again.

Outright calling someone a liar is much different than saying you don't necessarily believe them. You know this. Quit trying to pick a fight with me because you felt slighted on a forum.

Not gonna lie, I'm enjoying all these people who have started playing a game that was very clearly going to follow the 20 year history of its own previous edition in allowing the best players to make world-shattering decisions, and are now surprised.

Spoiler alert for the new kids: If you think the winners making the decisions pisses you off, just wait until someone like me purchases their choice from them without ever leaving home.

I take back everything I said. Massing at Twilight is amazing.

So a bad idea happened 20 years ago so we shouldn't change it. Got ya.

This argument is funny. L5R has always been driven by the choices of the competitors, and the players are very dedicated.

Complaining about this is like playing an MMO and complaining that you have to group with others. This is a foundation of the game.

If you hate this so much, perhaps this is not the game for you. Perhaps you will grow accustom to it and even feel that same competitive drive we old guard have.

Outside of official events, none of these choices matter anyways. Frankly, they barely matter in official events since the effect is minimal in the grand scheme.

A lot of us think it's a good idea. The folks who don't can play pretty much every other game ever made.

It's not a bad idea for many people.

Or we can, you know, just keep playing without the rule like we have been. It's much easier to adjust for Worlds once a year than it is to play with a rule that most of our players down voted.

I agree with you. Unless it's an official event, I don't even use a roll currently.
