Thweek and his Ks

I've started playing around with Guns for Hire and ended up with this.

There's an initiative bid for Thweek. Then the Ks are nicely kitted out for Harpoons plus Hel gets his ability for a bit longer.

Any thoughts?

I had EU and Vectored Thrusters on them, but it was too much! Didn't use either effectively.

Stealth Device ties in with Hel's ability. Until he loses it he'll always be giving attackers a stackable stress.

I just don't think Stealth Device is worth it. Going Engine+Autothrusters will prevent more damage, although it does cost 2 points more. I'd drop Vectored Thrusters, so that's one point per ship. I'd probably drop Victor Hel to Captain Jostero, and drop to a 98 point bid. I think Boost would benefit Talonbane, who loves to get into Range 1. I just don't trust Victor Hel's ability to really be worthwhile on the table. Experience could prove that wrong, but I just don't think it'll be as good in games as on paper.

More broadly, is there an anti-synergy between Talonbane and Harpoon? If you don't kill the target at longer range, if you dive into range 1, you might get popped by your own Harpooned conditions. That, too, is something which will need to be seen on the table over time. If so, swapping Harpoon for Cruise Missiles and taking Glitterstim on Thweek might be strong.

For your 2 Kihrahx:

If flying Talonbane, I'd think about using PTL/VT/EU. Stealth Device is less needed on him.

I think the Hel build is about perfect.

They both could use Scavenger Crane: they can get back Harpoons and Hel can get back his SD.

However, Jostero might be worth switching for one of them Ks. Having 2 Kirahx (One Jostero w/ Expertise, one flavoured for whichever pilot you choose) with Harpoons, GC, Scavenger Cranes is potent, and can reliably trigger Jostero.

I was wondering about Harpoon causing me problems! This is why I shared it! Try to iron out any kinks.

Completely agree. That was what I was going to say. After they fire their missiles, you are going to still end up with Khiraxz fighters. I still think it is a trap to over load them. Have you thought about ion pulse shield and ion dischargers? I have not flown it, but seems, especially for Talon a great option (cheaper than SD and can last the whole game).

This is what I am interested in trying out, though I fear Talonbane Cobra may be too many points and I am not sure that Thweek can finish.

Started wondering if something to more consistently trigger the Harpoon was needed. Not completely sure but this would also add some heft to the list.

I don't think you need the extra heft of the Slaver. The other K with Harpoons/GC/Scavenger Crane will provide many crits.

Agreed. Guidance Chips on a ship with 3atk converts to a crit (instead of a hit) which triggers the earlier condition.
