That guy is in the challenger cut. Hopefully he picks up the pace of play a bit to avoid that happening next time. High roll Unicorn/Lion is really the only way to play that faction and he's doing it well.

Was a great match. Interested to see how he does next round.

Unicorn is certainly not as bad as they seem based upon the results from Worlds. Any small difference in winning percentage will cause really competitive players to pick something else for a tournament like this, so we end up losing a lot of potentially good players. I'm doing very well with Crane splash, myself, it's the best I've tested so far.

It just got better knowing the pONI get to remain a keeper

I've been tying to tell people Unicorn can be good. They are just more complicated to play than other clans, maybe only Phoenix is even close. They are underpowered some though but not as bad as people make it sound.

Unicorn is clearly better than worlds showing... already dominating lot of meta BEFORE the release of yurt... Again the clan is the most difficult to deckbuild with scorpion and the most difficult to deckbuild with phoenix... The clan don't allow error but is simply faster and more dominating than 2/3 of the meta.

Whining around unicorn is really sad... Dragon are not yet playing optimum decks for the most part and are clearly underperfoming in this event, same on unicorn... Balanced meta would be very different... yet we talked on that on appropriate forums but this is a little sad... Let's see what kotei seasons will give us.... As first koteis are europeans and environnement is very dragon / unicorn oriented here...

First big tournament in madrid top 5 is logical : 3 unicorn than dragon, than crane so Madrid kotei will certainly give us tools to confront worlds environnement and nuance things...

@Silme What is gained by picking a seeker role?

Based on where Unicorn picked they would have had the option of seeker of water or earth. Imo, any keeper role would be better than that and that's not even taking into consideration that the keeper role had the best cards spoiled in imperial cycle packs, including the unicorn clan cards, as talisman is better than chasing the sun.

The choice was done.

As far as where Unicorn stands in the meta game, they will undoubtedly be better in Madrid.....but that will be an entirely different.meta game because new cards will be available. It has nothing to do with European vs American meta game.

Why is it that you think the European meta is so far ahead? I'm not sure I understand how those results are any more valid than those in the US.

And just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that US results are more valid.

My issue with Unicorn isn't that they are bad, it's I find the playstyle boring. They don't do tricks, they don't have a lot of neat abilities, they are like old crab, blunt force with very little flavor. I think the change to how battles are fought hit the clans flavor a lot.

Currently i think either roll is nice for unicorn, i think both chase the sun, and talisman are gonna help out alot.
