In our group we found that sticking Reinforced Deflectors (for free) is a quite nice fix for the B-wing. Slap the new and shiny Linked battery on it and the generics are pretty nice. They can take a beating and swallow up 3 missiles before exploding, but keep their susceptibility to numerous attacks (we thought about Reinforce first, but obviously that wasn't the good solution, as we didn't want to punish 2-dice attack ships even more).

Can't wait for FFG to give some love to that classic and awesome-looking ship !

That's pretty much the thought process for the Wepon Platform mod I posted above.

The idea is that with a 3 die primary, you should only pay points for an IMPROVEMENT over your regular attack. Ion cannon is nifty, but it cuts your damage, so no net gain. A plasma torpedo without chips is 4 dice without rerolls vs 3 dice with rerolls, usually accepted as less than a wash, with a bonus against shielded targets to make it up, sometimes. Also free. HLC is 4 points for an extra arc-limited die. a number that looks reasonable from both the EPT side (expose, opportunist would be fine without their drawbacks, on price alone, if arc limited) and the title side (both Outrider HLC and Punishing one are 12 points for a 360 bigger gun, dropping to 1/4 the available area for 1/3 the price is fine)

Mangler, Autoblaster, Arc caster, are all somewhere in the middle.

I wrote the card almost a year ago, but Linked battery and seismic torpedos fit the same way EM does- they arnt secondary weapons, they dont use the 1 attack per round I'm counting on to make this massive discount fair, so they cost the normal amount of points. The idea is that the Bwing becomes a "schrodinger's weapon platform," where it always has the right weapon for the job, but not any more firepower than the "right weapon" provides.
