So I will boldly ask... will there be a dice app like the one for SW EoE? That thing rocks...
dice app?
I will wager there will be. I suspect it will be released when the CRB drops.
They already sell the L5R dice app in the beta stadium of playtesting. Why they do not publish one for a system that is already finished and on board beats me. Same for a launch setting.

Well, you don't know that these don't exist. Maybe they're going to surprise us!
Doesn't the core book come with 4 settings to get started with?

Even 5 settings or rather genres :
- Fantasy
- Steampunk
- Weird War
- Modern Day
- Science Fiction
but of what they say they keep those genres very generic and broad.
Example of what they wrote about the SciFi setting in the book:
QuoteThe science fiction setting found in the Genesys Core Rulebook is further broken down into more grounded science fiction and space operas, offering a wide swathe of tropes, equipment, and adversaries.
And from experience, if there is something missing in their Upcoming section it won't be published. As much as I'd wish, when I look at L5R, how eager they are to involve the fans and spill hundreds of pages of beta material publicly, the secrecy they wrap around Genesys is a small letdown. I mean the books are printed and on its way. They could at least let beta testers allow to share some info or the d20radio podcast already prepared to be aired. Grrr.

It's definitely a quandary but we really don't know.

In general, "surprising" people eager to give you cash for products is a bad idea... In general companies would rather have their customers (and potential customers) know what's coming and be all hyped up for it... Imagine if Marvel keep a lid on the latest Thor movie and just "surprised" movie-goers one Friday...

Yes yes, that's all elementary my dear dlw32. FFG has a way of doing things that's not exactly ... elementary. That said, I think you're right that we won't see anything, but we don't really know for certain.
Edited by themenschIn the mean time there are a couple community made dice apps. There's a webapp and a discord one
