Paint quality dropping?

1`: This is a great way to look at it.
2: They fly more like REALLY angry hornets, for what it's worth. My dad used to pilot one- best pilot in his guild too, they always wondered how he got this big lug moving right.

See, but that makes perfect sense for bumblebees, because you look at that thing and say “can that thing even fly?” And the answer is “very well, actually! There’s no scientific justification for it though!”

Because Kimogilas don't care what humans believe is possible.

I noticed this last night at my LGS in So Cal.

A couple of guys bought the last K's they had on hand and popped them open. Those things were clean & pristine. No wash, no grime. Everyone just shrugged. Perfect for painting though.

I actually didn't think the paint quality of the StarViper in the Guns for Hire pack was very good, the first time I've ever thought that about a Fantasy Flight Games mini.

Urban legend... Bumblebees don't have fixed wings...

I repainted them. I repainted them all. And not just the engines, but the cockpit, and the panels too! I painted them like animals!

Wait

Actually, this got me thinking about tie fighters with zebra print and leopard print paint schemes. Glitzy!

They are really rough with the wash, even in the same batch.

I 1st noticed it when the jm5k came out, one looks shades darker it's got that much extra wash on it.

The detail can be explained by the paint as well. There have been reports over in the mods sub finding extra detail when stripping models for repaint.

No, that's not true! That's impossible! The paint has clearly been getting worse!

(Jumpmaster) 5000 Shades Darker: the R-rated sequel to Star Wars, featuring Dengar in a long series of very poorly acted romance scenes. Makes Episode II look good by comparison.

I agree. My red StarViper lacks any detailing on the cockpit or engine, or on the little bits on the wings near the fuselage. :(

When it comes to flying, bumblebees use the same principle as helicopters. They beat the air into submission with their wings.

I wouldn't worry about that. I have three protectorate starfighters, each with different level of dirtiness. I fly Old Teroch on the dirtiest and Fenn Rau on the polished fighter.

I have a TIE phantom thats essentially imperial light grey instead of imperial grey/blue. In fact that’s why I bought it. It looks cool. I didn’t need a second tie phantom, but the off color was to cool to pass up.

I dunno... I feel as though paint jobs have gotten better since the beginning of X-wing, though there is certainly variance on each individual wave and paint job.

As it stands, I repaint many of my ships, so it doesn't matter much to me. I think it's important to be mindful that Xwing paint jobs are usually well done, especially in comparison to many other existing pre-painted miniature games.

Completely agree with this.

And yes, it is staggering how good the paint is in X-Wing for pre-painted models. Like, nothing else comes even remotely close to as good as these models for something you don't have to touch with a brush and have it it still look great on the table.

Some way, some where, some how, the sky will always be falling.

Everything is falling, all the time, all at once. That is the premise of space.

The sky is constantly falling towards the ground, which is falling towards the core, and the pressure of everything falling towards itself holds it all together. The sky is the lightest bit so it gets forced to the outside. This is the premise of gravity.

If the sky ever stopped falling, it would simply drift away, and everything on Earth would suffocate.

Thus, I am very grateful that the sky is falling, and I hope it never stops.

I can agree with the paint quality being inconsistent, I just got a new OT Core Set, and one of the Tie Fighters looks like it has way to much wash applied to the main ship, almost looks like it went on over the main core area really thick. Sadly I ordered this from a online retailer so I couldnt pick which one i got.

I just got one, and had to take a photo comparison. The difference was startling. Old one on the left, new on the right.

You are exaggerating and overreacting on the matter.

Well, I thought the difference was pretty dramatic. Look at the engine grills at the back. One ship doesn't even have the grey lines.

I'm not saying it's going to ruin my time playing X-Wing by any means, but it's the most considerable difference in paint I've seen between two ships.

I kinda like the right more man, not gonna lie. Just looks cleaner in a good way.

Besides, even my stupid **** could do a wash if I really had an issue with it.
