First game - so much fun

By DangerShine Designs, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I suspect I'm not alone but I am one of those Star Wars/RPG junkies who has been buying and digesting RPG's since the WEG days, however due to a combination of work/life/social group, I haven't played an RPG since the late 80's.

However, at the weekend I finally got an opportunity to play the EotE Starter Game at a local game store with an awesome, awesome bunch of guys and man, what a fun experience. Having read the rules relentlessly (to say nothing of the sourcebooks and adventures, etc) I had a good sense of how, mechanically at least, the game would play but boy, seeing those narrative dice in action? That was really something :)

That's it, just still buzzing a few days on and wanted to share :)

Yes!! Welcome to the awesome! :) Was there any particular result that sold you? What was the situation?

My cousins got EotE last summer and I visited, got hooked immediately. So much fun and we weren't even playing it right! (difficulty dice? what are those?)

No, it was the whole thing - we played "Escape from Mos Shuuta" and, having read the adventure text subsequently, it went pretty much by the numbers but was just a hoot. The freedom to interpret dice results and have fun with that as well as 'be part of' the SW universe was just awesome.
