Help with Imperial VSD/Quasar list

So decided rather than try an Interdictor, I'd slot in a Quasar instead. Please offer up any advice. Not sure if the fighter choice is right but this allows the Quasar to activate 5 fighters and the Gozanti the firesprays, or just let them use rogue.

Not sure if I maybe need to drop an Interceptor for a Tie fighter to get Squall title too? Or Agent Kallus? And do i need Sloane, or maybe another Admiral instead? 400 points, so not after an Initiative bid. Plan is to throw fighters forward at enemy fighters, get the VSD's point at the enemy, and move the Firesprays up to either help with the Squadron battle or throw them at enemy ships from turn 2 onwards depending on the situation.

Sloane demands 2 things- no rogues, and 134 points in squadrons. If you don't meet those two criteria Sloane isn't the admiral for you. Fortunately Motti is the same points, and you can run the same squads with him he just won't have the consistency versus ships Sloane will.

My advice for list building in general is to keep it simple. I think you are trying to do too much with this fleet. You want gunships, and carriers, and dogfighting squads, and bombers and...... you just kinda run out of points and don't really invest enough in any one area to have a super effective fleet. I'd also consider not bringing Firesprays as they are points premium for an all in all lackluster bomber. If they didn't have rogue and were 3 points less you would see them, but currently they just don't have a place.

If you want to go with Sloane, you can do just fine with Howlrunner, Dengar, Ciena, and 7 Interceptors. Or if you don't have that many interceptor models, pick up more aces. Add Mauler, Valen, Jendon, Soontir until you can fill the rest up with generic interceptors without an issue.

Your gunship vic's really need leading shots to account for sub-par red rolls. Dual Turbos is an alternate to correct a single blank and all in all is more useful IMO but it's exhaust which doesn't fit with Gunnery teams.

I don't know where you will find the points to make everything you want to fit, so sacrifices will have to be made somewhere. But right now the list just seems like it is having an identity crisis that needs to be sorted before it will function at top efficiency.

Hmm, so maybe lose a VSD, and get more Squadrons, or lose the Quasar and stick in my GSD or a raider?

I think you need to decide on admiral first. This fleet is half Sloane and half what looks like a good Motti fleet to me. Pick which admiral you want to use, and then let that decision inform all the rest. If you go Motti, trim the squads into a tiny death ball with one good alpha and add another VSD or Gladiator. If you go Sloane build your squad ball and carrier first, then figure out what combat ships fit after that.
