Another trailer for TLJ

By BlodVargarna, in X-Wing

Luke in the Falcon... the feels.

C'est efficace, no?

0:13 dream house.

Does Rey try to kill Luke? Um wat?

Edited by Celestial Lizards

Wait, did this trailer just show Luke talking to Rey it's not "going to go the way you think"?

Probably the most thought-provoking image of all the trailers so far for me.

Extended version?

Misleading edit. He was probably talking to Ben and then Rey showed up.

Sure, that is probable, almost assured even. But if not- the repercussions would be massive.

I for one would love to see that turn out to be true, unlikely as it may be.

Remember the Rogue One trailers were full of deleted scenes

But they also heavily reshot a lot of things. Not sure if the Last Jedi has had anything like that happen.

Doubtful that they're going to use "deleted" scenes at this point: A) the movie has been in the can for around a month, and B) fans have been pretty grumpy about being mislead by the trailers from R1 and TFA ("It's true. All of it.").

This moment is probably happening during her training and is similar to Luke's experience in the Dagobah cave. To me, the way the trailer is edited makes it appear misleading.

It didn't hit me until the Falcon burst through the ground & fired on TIEs that Rey (presumably) is at the battle on Crait. Poe & Finn are there too. It may be the first time we see the trio together on screen.

I don't think Luke leaves the planet he's hiding on, despite being shown in the Falcon's cockpit.

There are some big oval shaped ships that look like Rebel transports in one shot. Do you think that's what they are, just Resistance era versions?

Probably. There's a Resistance-era Nebulon in there as well.

I am so glad that they are no longer resorting to use discarded concepts and ideas that Lucas didn't consider good enough!

Oh, wait...

He isn't CGI.

But keep believing that, please. Everybody needs their dragon.

Yikes. I've embarrassed myself. I must have been distracted by the CGI bird thingy. It probably adds a lot to the movie.

"CGI bird is the key to all of this".

George Lucas, circa 2017

I really don't get the Porg obsession. It's a beakless penguin, it's kinda uncanny and weird.

looks like the battle at Crait is at the end since the Falcon is there.

It could also just be shot for the trailer

God know Disney has NEVER done that before...

...but it tastes amazing . It's all those midichlorians.

The porgs looks like they took BB-8 and feathered him.

Disney must have discovered that 8-shaped characters are cute and sell millions in toys.

Porg are pretty clearly the "ewoks" of this film, in that they are something cute and huggable that the studio probably forced upon the filmmakers in order to make millions in toy and plushie sales. Chewbacca is kinda the same way -- he'll never ever die because (1) that's feasible in the story, since he's non-human, which means longer lifespan and not linked to one human actor AND (2) he's a runaway favorite among kids, and is heavily merchandised because of that, bringing almost as much in toy/apparel/general mercandise sales in as all the other pieces of the franchise combined.

I liked the new trailer, but I do wish that Luke had activated the Falcon using the force instead of his hand. I think that would have been a nice touch.

Still, cautiously optimistic about this movie.

Mark Hamil said to the press ref the first trailer “this is not going to go the way you think”. Mega troll! The exact line like says in the new trailer. Gotta love Hamil’s ability to troll the masses.

Maybe old man Luke will be a new crew card!

The fact that FFG made TFA Han and Chewie points to TLJ Luke
