First post and have not been playing destiny very long so apologies for the noob question. I was playing in a game today and the Night Sniper was played. The discussion we got into was on the ambush keyword. I read it based on the rules reference as my opponent gets the extra action when he played the card. He read it as an extra action when he played the card and an extra action each time the character with the weapon was activated. Based on " After playing (and resolving) a card with Ambush, a player may take another action" at the very least if he got more than one ambush from the weapon it would be when the die for the weapon is resolved. Any help on this question would be great.

Ambush only happens when you actually play the card itself. If you do anything with a card that was already on the table (i.e. activate a character) it doesnt trigger. Playing a card means "the card enters the board of play and affects the game somehow" - if it was already in the board, i.e. on a character, it isnt "played" - switching is a different story but also rare.

It also goes to the end of the "queue" so if he has something waiting that isnt another free action he must resolve that other thing before the ambush action.

Theres way too many weapons with the ambush keyword for it to let you get a free action whenenver you activate.

The Ambush keyword only triggers once, when the card is played (paid for and added to a character). It doesn't trigger each time the die is resolved or each time the character is activated.
