Can anyone think of a better knight level combo than armor/cyberneticist? Maybe Gageteer/cyberneticist?
Of course rocket boots and repulsor fist micro rocket launcher armor attatchment. Custom crafted Augmentative armor... Anything else?

Jump Boots are considered a Vehicle
Actually the player is considered a sil 1 Vehicle when wearing

Listen to the Order 66 Podcast for the Scientist. I believe GM Phil builds Tony Stark from a Elomin Scientist/Gadgeteer.
Modder\Gageteer if your gm let's you use a jet pack as your signature vehicle

This hurts inside.

I feel it too man, I feel it too.
There's flight suit armor in no disintegrations, works way better than a jet pack or rocket boots. You want that. And you definitely want rigger with that
Oooo
I agree but the problem is that it has low soak and defense no brawn increase and low hp.
Kav-dann or crafted augmentative armor with a jetpack is a lot more to work with.
Then again with the armored drop suit that's +2 handling and and 2 more system strain...
I was originally thinking the jetpack would get the +2 hp from the modder talent and get an astromech socket installed. And then crafted elimination protocols so the astromech would have 4 greens im the ranged and gunnery skills.
And also perform pilot manuevers as an astromech can on adv's...
Then again i could skip the pilot manuevers and just go for a droid brain gunner and droid pilot brains.

I would never allow a player to install an astromech Droid socket on a jet pack or drop suit. And I probably wouldn't allow Droid brains either.
What if you stripped both down?
So instead of a physical socket you loose the ability to remove astromech and keep just the connection.
Strip the droid down to just its processors and you install it into a jetpack attached permanently to a suit of heavy armor and you should have enough room right?

I don't think that it's about fitting in, but rather about game balance.
The basic issue is anyway the the GM needs to be extremely generous to you to allow you to use the jetpack/drop suit as signature vehicle, because they are not vehicles, but make players using them count AS vehicle. Stretching it even more to apply vehicle mods to it is ... well stretching it too far imo.
Now at the other hand allowing the drop suit to apply the rigger talents to it sounds cool. Armor 1 is ok, the extra HT and SS is cool too and adding handling is cool too. You get a fine iron man that way and it would fit star wars as well. Adding another point of armor or astromech, etc functionality becomes quickly silly and star wars atypical. Sentient power-armor makes little sense when you could just build a complete droid in that case instead.
As far as flavor goes i completely agree.
Ignoring that however:
If you can build a sentient droid why not sentient armor? Just from a balance perspective.

It sucks when you wear sentient armor and it always tries to get armor for your armor, because it just hates the idea of taking a bullet for you?
