Original Trilogy Only Lists

I'm going to an Original Trilogy Only tournament! I am a little bewildered as to what to bring so I thought I'd ask you guys!

Rules:

1) We have to bring two lists - a Rebel list and an Imperial list. NO SCUM.

2) TLT is banned, but all other upgrades are allowed.

3) Only the following ships can be used:

A) Rebels: A-Wing, B-Wing, T-65 X-Wing, Y-Wing, YT-1300 (No Rey Pilot)

B) Imperials: TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, Lambda Class Shuttle, Firespray

I don't know the details but in every game the same faction can't fight itself, so we have to bring two lists in preparation for that.

I’ve ran a list very similar to your AWing list, just PTL on Tycho, and my Jake build instead of yours and drop one unique to a green... regardless... fun

This is actually good, but you have to swear not to laugh. I have a very high W/L ratio with it:

Yeah, Gemmer isn’t great, but I like having all the named pilots!

Arvel is wicked. Everyone forgets his ability and then he kills them all. It’s hilarious!

Hmmm... I like these but I don't have enough ships!

I only have one X-Wing and two A-Wings! I'm not buying more, lol!

Also, I only have one bomber.

PS - I forgot Y-Wings! I have two of them.

Psst - if you go with X-Wings and TIE Bombers, you’ll be able to borrow some from friends. Nobody understands how wickedly OP the things are. :)

in your games, either all your guys are shooting first, or their shooting first and harder, so you almost always will be good for combat phase (and the rebels are kind of block free [not to mention being to use kanan on a debris you knew you were gonna overlap because of a bump on a green when a white will also bump])

I'd love to play in a tournament like this, but there is nothing that will make me touch a rebel ship.

But the yt-2400 was in the original trilogy!

1) Great Alpha Strike.

2) Han has insane mobility. He's getting a free focus every turn, so he can evade and boost - or TL if he wants to.

3) No Integrated Astromech for Wedge though.

4) Wedge with BB-8 and Intensity!!

Love it. One problem - what's the plan against TIE swarms? Yes, somebody will show up with one.

OT tourney is the only one I've ever won...

  • Palp Aces... sorta. My aces were - Vader, Mauler Mithel(snap shot) and Backstabber

I like it! Kind of a return to the Wave II meta. I’d take C3PO over Kyle Katarn and Expertise over Push the Limit, then ditch the Plasma Torps and Guidance Chips in favor of upgrading intensity to Push the Limit. That also leaves you a point for initiative bid and allows Integrated Astromech on Wedge.

You can always go full trench run. Makes more sense for Imperials than Rebels, and is not strictly speaking competitive, but fun as all h*ll.

Vader+ any desired upgrade (Predator?), Mauler Mithel, Backstabber plus Black Squad Pilots to fill up the rest , Crack Shot as desired. It's not bad, either.

It looks like a good list though, don't abandon it. Just try to think that particular strategy through. Could be as simple as let Wedge burn and do a classic kite job with Solo.

One thing for sure, a boosting Han Solo at PS9 with a Focus+Evade is going to dodge a lot of arcs. That may be my best defense against a swarm.

I've played in a couple of classic tournaments. Won one using Porkins, Hobbie, and Dutch. All with torpedoes. I can post the full list if you want, but a better team replaces Porkins (who is rubbish) with Horton. 2 ion cannon turrets are so much better than 1.

For Empire I would go for something like:

Boba Fett + HLC + Recon Specialist + Predator

Captain Jonus + TIE Shuttle + Systems Officer + Fleet Officer

Mauler Mithel + Predator

For Rebels I had a very nice list of Wedge, Wes and Luke
