Our recent OT tournament was won by Fat Han (double droids) & Jake, 2d was 5x Scimitar with Unguided Rockets, and #3 and #4 were both triple Ace X-wing lists.

Recently went to an OT tournament and I ran:

vader w/Intensity, cruise missiles, engine, tittle, ATC.

carnor w/autothrusters, stealth device, tittle and push the limit.

deathfire w/em, cruise missiles, lrs, cluster mines

Great fun but the list that kicked me in was a fat Han and Wes Jansen list.

Anyone got any idea what to do with an U-Wing in that environment?

But seriously, I'm thinking about using it because when will I ever do that if not in such a restricted environment? Who would profit from Cassian Andor removing stress, and what do I load on that ship?

It came in 2nd because I goofed up and got Vader killed with some unfortunate crits. But it's pretty straightforward to play and actually gives a reason to use Hux.

Hux wasn’t from the OT!

Vader+ any desired upgrade (Predator?), Mauler Mithel, Backstabber plus Black Squad Pilots to fill up the rest , Crack Shot as desired. It's not bad, either.

Oh man, I love this list. I came up with a similar version when the Raider first dropped and Vader was king (briefly)

Am a TO at my local club, and I've run a couple of theme events now. One of them was a OT list event, (Next one coming up and am allowing U-Wings and Strikers).

Fat Han is a problem as with the selection of ships begin limited him and Jake reign supreme. I made TLT unique which helped bring them inline. As either high alpha or turrets bring Han in line. Jake is a different problem, but end of day the reason for running this format is to see these types of ships and lists on table.

(I also banned Resistance pilots for ships as Rey is a monster as well)

Ion Y-Wings are good in this format; with Wedge (or Wes which ever discards tokens)

The first of these events that Hodgy ran was what inspired me to try Porkins. There was a special prize for the most thematic list, based on the original movie rather than any actual restrictions on lists, and I deliberately chose 3 pilots that all blew up (Porkins, Dutch, and Garven) so I could emulate them when losing catastrophically.

Turned out that the secret criterion to choose 'most thematic' was the amount of screen time! So, Han and Luke, with R2D2, C3PO, and Leia won that rather easily.

Plus I only lost one game - and found out how enjoyable flying a bunch of losers was.

Wouldn't be legal in an OT Tournament

Okay, so two questions:

1) My wife wants to help me get ready for this upcoming OT Tournament by flying OT Imperials. I make the lists, she just give me "big picture" of what she wants to fly.

The thing is, she's new and flies like a Rebel. "I really like lots of shields and hull. Like I want 5 shields and 5 hull like Dash."

I reply, "Well, uh, there's only one Dash out there and..."

"Okay, whatever, but I just want lots of shields and hull. And none of this puny little *pew* *pew* with two little red dice. How is that going hurt anything? And three ships is too many for me, that extra third little ship is just a waste."

So, that means a Firespray and a Lambda, does this suck given the limitations above?:
