One more plea for app info

By Nrin, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Hey FFG. Thanks for making cool games. We like them. We like buying them. We like playing them. We like talking about them.

Could you give us any more info AT ALL about the app for imperial assault? For more than a year all we've gotten is a notion that you guys are "working on it" with no hints at any sort of timeline.

I know, I know. You guys probably can't give a timeline because it could create expectations you might not meet, you don't do that with your products until it hits a certain point in the production process, or any other of dozens of possible reasons.

I'm just asking. Is it at least a year out? More? At least 6 months? Is there any projection for when there could be some kind of announcement? I don't need to know a release date. I'd be happy to know an "at very least" kind of projection. I wouldn't hold you to it, and it would help me to know for how long I shouldn't worry about hearing anything.

So what do you say? Throw us a bone?

How about another L5R short story instead? :P

Well... Their in testing. So the could be anywhere between 10% and 90% done. :P

Actually, for less than a year (since gencon) we have known that the App has been in playtesting.

I get that you want to hear more about the App, we all do.

But this isn't even the place to ask, as there are no FFG employees who actively come here and respond to queries.

Also, a timeline is very unlikely to be provided until they have a more concrete idea of it themselves.

And they're not going to risk a pr disaster by promising something by a certain date and having to go back on it.

We have till December 31st of 2017. If it is not available by then I would say either:

A. It's not happening

Or

B. It's going to be late coming

It'll happen. It's been announced, and then announced again that it's still in work. There are no legal issues either. A juggernaut like Disney makes their children play nice to keep the wheels moving.

I bet one bottleneck is getting it on the Crapple Store. Every little fix or tweak you make has to go through a series of tests all over again. Not necessarily arguing against such a demanding QA system, but I know it causes headaches and delays.

Patience young padawans, I'm sure we'll all be putting this on our Christmas lists soon.

Everytime somebody asks about the app, it is pushed back by a month. Currently I expect the app to be released sometime in 2032... :P

Now that they are done the first 90%, they have the other 90% left.

I heard that George R. R. Martin is writing prose for the IA app now and it's just another excuse for not getting his next book (or the app) done!
