Hello, is there any info on what the core box will contain and what "extra cards" the troop boxes may have, making them more desirable than two core boxes?
Kind regards, a nerd.

Check this reddit thread, does a brilliant job of breaking it down.
So basically there will be cards in the unit expansions that are not in the core box? Sorry for asking again but I'm rather slow in my head today and English is not my native tongue.

That is what it looks like, yes. The example I am aware of is the Grappling Hook upgrade for Troopers does not appear to come in the Core Box

Bummer... but nothing will be 100% certain until FFG releases a complete list of "what's in the box" ... well... then we'll wait some more...
The comms jammer card is in the speeder bike preview.
"Units at range 1 cannot be issued commands, except by themselves."

But it still *could* be in the core set. I'll just wait until there is a complete list available. But thanks for all your answers.
From what I have read, there will be new cards not available in the core to encourage buying the extra units. Which is what they have done with every single one of their minis games so far.

do the math from the previews. according to ffg spain there are supposed to be 35 upgrade cards in the core.
I just found an article description of the expansions for German outlets: "contains (miniatures) and new unit- and upgrade-cards" So that's that. Buying two core sets will get you the same amount of miniatures but not all cards. Bummer. :S

hmmmmm. If ffg go the "you must have a full set of upgrade cards" for tournaments and it's true that the "unit" card is different and not just the +1 trooper that means most lists built so far *need* multiple cores.........
And you can't just use the alternate faction cards because they are different point costs......

Which comes to show that no-one knows anything until they release detailed lists of box contents. And I won't hold my breath for that *g*

So there’s the extra mini plus speciealist troopers for each squad so thats 4 x 3=12
plus there’s the weapons for the at-rt so thats another 3. Then there’s 5 known force powers and at least 1 grenade, gear and comms upgrade. So thats 23 known cards. There probably will be multiple of those grenade, comms and gear cards. Probably 4 each so thats 4x3=12 so thats 32 cards.

FYI - the odds of getting 4x on the Comms card seem unlikely as there are only two units in the core box that can take Comms (the Speeder Bikes and the AT-RT). Especially since those two units will include the Long Range Comlink in their individual boxes. On the other hand, there are five core set units that can take the Gear upgrades like Targeting Scopes (the Stormtroopers x2, Rebel Troopers x2, and Luke).

Good point. Also if there’s a card that give precise then chances are they’ll be one to give nimble..

Imp's don't need scopes, they have precise on their squad card

Which is kind of funny since stormtroopers never hit anything

Numerical keywords stack in this game. Stormtroopers have Precise 1 and the Targeting Scopes give Precise 1, so Stormtroopers with Targeting Scopes have Precise 2.

I'm sure there are plenty of theories out there, but the troopers based on the Death Star must have been green troops. I mean, they couldn't even walk through a doorway without knocking their helmets .
The ones on Tatooine that took out the Lars homestead and the sand crawler were seasoned combatants, surely.

Yeah, gotta note those precise blast points.
People always overlook the people Imps actually killed. Not just Lars and the Jawas either. They beat the heck out of the rebels on
Hot
h. If you count space, they decimated the rebels before they blew up the Death Star, plus all those rebels dying at Endor. They just always missed the main characters because of "plot armor," which you can explain away as the will of the force or something if you really wanted. The further you get away from the main movies, the deadlier they are- like in the books, or Rogue One.
There's plenty of competent Stormtroopers out there. With any luck, we'll get some at some point. I'm just afraid it won't be in the core because that's kind of the trope. Even other games note the "stormtrooper feel" when they make enemies that are designed to go down easy.
(Before I forget, I do want to say that as a member of the bar, I love your name. Kinda bummed I never thought of making that Star Wars/Law connection myself)
