More Card Spoilers

Also, if you're willing to leave the holding in play, you'd be able to use that interrupt once each turn until you get just the right character at just the right time to spring from the hideaway.

It wouldn't flip, the province is already filled by the holding, and it isn't placed in the province, it's attached to the holding.

Oh right, whoops lol.

Crab three cost attachment is unplayable at that cost.

You sure? It removes a character fairly well. You'd need to use the Ring of Water every turn to get them to a fight, so they can't participate in the first conflict, or use some unbow tech as an action at some point. On top of that it pings their stats. It has its limits, but it works on any character (except one Dragon monk) regardless of cost, status, or skill. Assassinate only works on 2 cost or lower, I Can Swim needs a dishonored target, Pacifism only works for one conflict type.

I'd play a 1x in a deck, only use against someone I knew wasn't dragon or splashing dragon. I guess calling in favors with also deal with this. No one is really running maya mystic.

Nope, it's crap. Miya Mystic, Let Go. You simply can't play 3 cost attachments in this meta, two cost attachments are iffy. You pay 3, they immediately Let Go for 0, who was hurt more? People start playing this and every time they play Crab they will hold the Let Go until they see Pit Trap.

Well given right now, if World's is any indicator, over 60% of people are playing or splashing Dragon.....so.

Definately what the clan needed. Crane won't mind it.

My Lion deck wouldn't mind it.

Remember you have to have a phoenix shugenja in play

I think it's still fine to run 1x or 2x if someone really wants to. While 60% of people were splashing Dragon at worlds, we'll have an entirely new field of cards in the upcoming weeks to possibly change that percentage.

If they're holding the Let Go for the trap, they aren't using it on your attachments right now.

I could see it as a 1 of that works best against Crane, Unicorn, Crab or Lion, though right now Lion's primary splash is Dragon. No more than 1, IMO.

Aye, like watch commander!

Yeah, but in the end you're still paying 3 for something that's going likely get insta Let Go'd.

There can only ever be 3 let gos

60% splashing Dragon isn't everyone. It does scream for Let Go, and everyone that splashes Dragon has one to use on the trap, but I think it's appropriately priced. And as Kubernes said, as the card pool increases we should see more variety in splashes.

This may be better down the road but it's not playable outside of maybe a "1 of" with the cards we've seen to this point.

I'm friendly with all the Phoenix shugenja. Its their yojimbo that don't like me.

No disagreement here. I like it, but not enough for 3 copies. My local area actually has very little Dragon splash.

Can we please get a couple more non-Phoenix spells soon-ish?

Phoenix should definitely get more spells than any other single clan, but there should be more than 1 neutral spell, and a most clans should get a spell or two of their own.

I hope we eventually see some Monk only fu.

Am I the only one who reads Back-Alley to mean that you must pay for the character attached to it as you normally would for a character in the province? The reason I suspect this is the case is due to the wording "...as if it were in the province."

Yes, you need to pay for the character, because it uses "play". The closest parallel is Guidance of the Ancestors.

Not gonna lie, at first glance I thought this said monkey fu.

Looks okay. Bowing a big character and shutting of their action abilities can be very good. Paying 1 and having to bow your own character to do it is less good, at least until we get another one more 1-cost monk or an easier way to ready monks. Also, I wish the name of this card was less bland.

We are getting a new 2-cost monk, but it looks rather weak to me, or at best mediocre.

Ironically, that would likely have played better with Keeper Initiates in your deck. But if you're going for the deck search option with Seeker Initiates, may as well bow one of them to activate this.

You then have 2 options. Use the action to bring the facedown character into play without paying its cost...

The card specifically states "play," not "put into play." That means the cost has to be paid.
