Is there somebody that managed to decipher the name of the Kuni shugenja? The glare is strong in this one.

Despite the sacrifice theme, I think this fits in very nicely with how Crab plays. You generally want to invest heavily in a beatstick or two (Kisada, Witch Hunter, Shuichi, Intimidating Hida) very early and then play chaff with minimal fate to use as sacrifice fodder. The Iron Mine plays into the idea of keeping those beatsticks in play as long as possible (Reprieve, Vanguard Warrior, etc. being prior examples of this mechanic) so that you can continue to fund your sacrifice supply chain without having to re-purchase the big guns.
Kuni Hot Garbage.
1. Competes with the Witch Hunter
2. Compare to the Phoenix 2-cost, which is a pseudo-Fire Ring, this only works on defense and only affect those participating. AND, is a unique. And costs more.

Hot garbage describes like 85% of this entire cycle. Compared to the Core Set, it's extremely lackluster.

You're right why would you want a second in clan Shugenja to give better access to Clouds who plays to the defensive theme by giving you a pseudo void effect. Nothing to see there.

More shugenja is good, but two 4 costers is does not put you in reliable Cloud the Mind territory. I think you would need at least four total to play Cloud the Mind. I run nine total shugenja cards in deck and I still can't always play Cloud the Mind.
I think the void ring effect is awesome though.
Edited by TomelloWow Miya Satoshi is very interesting. Can find you a bomb or a magistrate while you need one but requiring you to win the game fast or the 5 honor loss will end it for you instead.
Also this ability when you have Spirit Caller out LOL
Furthermore he has respectable stats and most importantly the Courtier trait(while being neutral).
Now that I think of it he might be potentially broken in the future.
On the other hand he has an anti synergy with himself.
Edited by BordOneSake House Confidant is OK at the moment, but WILL be better if there is a Shinobi themed Stronghold. Even discarding a political favor you still net a +1 minimum.
The Plagiarist is going to be really good, it may misfire occasionally but it will impact what your opponent does.
Oni Mask I am kind of digging, but need to test. It is a weaker version of Cloud the Mind (in that you have to plan it out in advance), but for the same cost you get a passive +1 military bonus.

No, but I will note that this means every extant Great Clan family is now represented by a card (the Kuni were the last).
Sorry, fans of the Horiuchi, I don't think they made the cut.

Sealing FFG's hatred of the Unicorn.
As far as I know the only Kuni we know of is Kuni Heki who was in the forest where the Unicorn chased down the Naga. The card definitely doesn't say Heki so maybe it's a new Kuni in a crab fiction coming soon.

In old L5R, the entire Horiuchi family was eaten by Goblins or put to the torch as a story prize.
We shrugged.
Aren't we missing a neutral card spoiler? Mono no Aware or something?

We're missing the details of what it does, but everything about it that I put on the spoiler table in the OP has been known since the first article. The only thing that was missing was the number, and now there's only one place it can go.
Supposedly Mono no Aware is supposed to remove 1 fate from each character your opponent controls.

I don't feel like she's a dud of a card:
double up on an end of round sac/draw
stealing 2 attachments with Kirada District. (I'm gonna say I was leery about Kirada District, but I was very wrong, it swings very hard, it's worth paying the fate for card and skill advantage)
Just remember, her potential will only keep getting better.

@Schmoozies I'm not playing another 4-cost Shugenja for this mediocre ability just to access to CLOUD THE MIND.
I would have preffered a crappy ability and 1 cost Shugenja - then I'd get access to CLOUD THE MIND and Sacrificial Fodder...this guy is just meh.
Why is that Kuni not wearing kabuki facepaint? Is that not a thing anymore?
I feel that the mistake with the kuni is that it's a dynasty card and not a conflict card. As a dynasty card she is directly compartable to steadfast. As a conflict character I feel like her ability would trigger more and with the inclusion of the mine it means you can pay for her and have the mines keep her in play for longer. As a dynasty card I think she needed completely different stats and costing.

The Kaiu Inventor as worded is insanely powerful. The extra granted ability use never expires.

True but they (developers) have said that like Pit Trap it will get errata to fix that.
The 1 cost Dragon monk is decent. Conditional ability that will occasionally be very useful. It also makes High Kick more useful, though still probably only worth running 1 or 2 at most.

Kuni Yori was mentioned in the first Crab fiction.

The Steadfast Witch Hunter is wearing the facepaint. Maybe only the tsukai-sagasu (witch hunters) wear it this time, or maybe it's just an error / inconsistency in the management of the art selection.

First letter seems a R and ends in ko.
I’m gonna say is Kuni Rumiko.
