Double bounty hunter list

By spamdex, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Bit of a fun list ive been playing around with , havent flown it yet but trying to maximise on bobas ability and the fact you never see autoblaster cannons!

I know they are a little overpriced and only work r1 but thats where boba needs to be

What do you think?

  • IG-88B's ability is pretty much a waste on Scum Boba Fett - if you get to fire the autoblaster, it's a 3-dice attack with at least 1 reroll that ignores green dice on any hit result; if you miss with that you're officially allowed to complain about having a bad dice day.
  • Veteran Instincts with Boost is always a good thing - as is anything which helps the firespray's dial. If trying to dance in close, though, you may find boost with a large based ship isn't actually that helpful - you need a lot of space. There is an argument for Expert Handling - barrel roll makes a heck of a difference to the firespray's agility, even if it's dealing with stress as a result.

  • It's a Heavy Laser Cannon IG-88B - still a pretty decent unit despite several waves creep
  • I know quite a few recent successes have been with people trying out control-equipped aggressors - ion cannon, tractor beams, rigged cargo, connor nets, and the like. IG-88B's ability is good accuracy insurance on the 3-dice cannons, and with agility 0-1 ships like Miranda Doni, Nym, Norra Wexley, Rear Admiral Chiraneau and co making up a lot of the target pool, do you really need a 7-point HLC to reliably hit?
  • A stress/tractor/ion focused IG-88 would be good because the more predictable you can make your opponent, the better "must be in range 1" boba fett will get.

The autoblaster and not being able to cancel hit results went straight over my head, thats why posting here is great!
