I don't have heaps of experience yet so I'd like to know what you think. Decent? Or not so much.

Not so much, but you may just be limited to your available upgrades at the moment. Its more about getting flying experience when first starting out then the actual build itself anyways. It does no good to have an awesome ship if you are landing on rocks, or putting it in bad situations (like Nym in 3 firing arcs).

If I was building a scurrg/emon list. I probably would just pay the 2pts and go with Nym. Sol's ability is "meh". Either drop to lok to save points or go up to Nym to be PS10 and not get hurt from friendly bombs, so Emon can just chuck those bomblets anywhere he pleases without a care in the world.

Lots of missiles out there and emon will be easy pickings, unless you have countermeasures. Stops old skool alpha strikes (aka that dont include deadeye or target synch). Nym cant be hurt by friendly bombs, so Emon can just do his thing without worrying about friendly fire. Nym, post FAQ, can still drop bombs with genius. Thermals for stress control and protons for annoying regen ships. Adv Sensors should keep you relatively safe, and a TL then tallon roll cruise missile is always nice.

I've actually played a few games with Emon and Sol, and have yet to loose with the list. Although Nym is likely the stronger choice, I do think Sols ability is a bit better than what wurms give it credit for. The list I play is this:

Emon Azzameen (36)
Cluster Mines (4)
Dengar (3)
Homing Missiles (5)
Glitterstim (2)
Extra Munitions (2)
Long-Range Scanners (0)
Slave I (0)

Sol Sixxa (28)
Predator (3)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Extra Munitions (2)
Cruise Missiles (3)
Cad Bane (2)
Cluster Mines (4)
Thermal Detonators (3)
Long-Range Scanners (0)

It's a fun and reasonably strong list. Took down a double aggressor build in 3 turns yesterday.

Or if you have 4 clusters and 4 proximities, you can give it a try to this list

-Step 1: make a nym's Island in the middle
-Step 2: use minefield mapper to place 1 cluster and 1 proximitie in the map,
-step 3: Drop every bomb in your squad or use the missiles.
in case they get close to Emon use the Emp device and drop a bomb after that

Emon Azzameen — Firespray-31 36
Cluster Mines 4
Cad Bane 2
Harpoon Missiles 4
EMP Device 2
Proximity Mines 3
Extra Munitions 2
Guidance Chips 0
Slave I 0
Ship Total: 53
Captain Nym (Scum) — Scurrg H-6 Bomber 30
Veteran Instincts 1
Twin Laser Turret 6
Extra Munitions 2
Cluster Mines 4
Proximity Mines 3
Minefield Mapper 0
R4-E1 1
Havoc 0
Ship Total: 47

I like Nym/Emon; its an absolutely savage bombing list with lots of toughness and generous teeth otherwise.

However, I think the generator belongs on Nym; getting him to PS 10 and using advanced sensors BR/Boost can allow you to reliably pin people with the reveal bomb. Emon, with his lower PS, can capitalize on action bombs. Here's how I'd built it:

Nym

VI

TLT

Bomblets

EU

Havoc

Adv. Sensors

Emon

Cad Bane

Slave 1

EM

Clusters

Conners

Flavour as desired!
