Errata cards for your use, v. 4.4

By Autosketch, in X-Wing

Hi Folks, I'll use this thread to document cards, for your use for the new FAQ. when I'm done I'll put them up on my website and replace the old batch.
I'll supply the full print files on the site, so if you can be patient I'll get these all up there with the bleeds you need to get them printed. As always, when I can find the original art at high enough res, I'll use it. when I can find it at medium res I'll modify it to work if I can, and if I just can't find anything workable I'll make something new.

quoted above,

I've got a few more to go, I have to finish polishing up a full art scum template.

YASSS!

So I just tape these to the old cards?

One day, I have to take the time to clean up those cards onto a single page for quick double sided printing and cutting. I am way to lazy for round ages and way too much a penny-pincher for custom card prints from oversea ^_^
Still, nice job as always. :)

Thank you very much for this, will likely be printing these out and sleeving them with originals.

Oh man, that art for the Adv. SLAM is perfect!

The real question is... why wasn't THAT picture on Advanced Slam originally?

And tip their hand that the Gunboat was coming? Not a chance.

I browsed through your website briefly - I'm impressed by your work. Thanks for sharing this with us! I will print them out soon and put them in the sleeves with the originals - is it possible to make a big pdf with several cards on one page? That would save some money for those who have to print at Staples.

Yes, when I'm finished I'll be putting these on a sheet together with bleeds. Just takes time but I will do so along with the individuals. :)

does anyone know a good service to get these things printed and cut on similar-to-FFG cardstock? I'm thinking about making errata kits to give out as prizes.

MPC just added US mini cards to their store, i'm going to give them a go again, I think it might be bang on the right size.

awesome! when you get a quote (or actual product), it would be awesome if you could share it -- I'll probably buy a bunch for the podcast.

From personal experience in printing cards. I would recommend not going the FFG way in use instead plastic "paper" with a decent weight. It is smoother, more resistance and just feels imho better. We had a few sets of those in a local tournament already. And in plastic they are clearly to separate from the original cards and thus you will not accidently take them to a tournament without the required ffg cards. So there should be no legal issues for non-commerical use either.

We use plastic all the time for the great maneuver reference cards. Either with round edges (a little more extra work) or just plain cuts, either way always double sided printed.

Cool, thank you, that is a pro tip. Do you have a vendor you can recommend?

My local copy shop would not really cut it for you. ;-)

Once citrus gives us the cards as single page files and as long as as the layout for the cards is properly sized and aligned for duplex printing those cards should be no problem for even basic copy shops. Round edges should be avaible as well in plenty of them. Printing several pages in one go and distributing them within the community reduces the costs per page as they you usually pay a little extra per cut and it doesn't matter for them if their cutting board goes through one or one-hundred pages.

Lastly https://citrus7workshop.wordpress.com/errata/ from Citrus Cannon lists iirc an american printing shop which specialists in custom cards. For that one you just upload the individual errata cards from citrus (avaible at the mentioned blog) and get a whole deck of errata cards. Round edges and packaging included. That is as well a solid solution.

Oh and don't forget to tip citrus :D
Designing the cards is actually an enjoyable and a little playful task. Making stuff print ready is always a pain in the ***, especially when front and backside need to align perfectly and size needs to be correct as well and crop marks are needed. DTP is in my opinion rarely fun.

First, I want to thank you for your efforts on our behalf. Given the number of errata and hard changes to cards, etc., it has become increasingly difficult to keep it all straight.

I am anxious to get my hands on your newest updates. I am curious as to how your progress is going? Thanks in advance for the update.
