Gunner + IG-88B

Don't know if this has been brought up in another thread yet but this interaction looks tasty!

From the new FAQ:

"If an attacking ship is equipped with both Gunner and IG-88D and there is a friendly IG-88B, and the attack misses, the attacking ship can then attack with a ? secondary weapon using the effect of IG-88B and then attack with the primary weapon using the effect of Gunner. See 'Timing Chart for Performing an Attack' on page 8."

Reading the cards it works RAW since IG-88B never specifies that you cannot attack again this round. I guess until I saw the new FAQ I assumed it wouldn't work with Gunner.

As it stands, the only Scum ship with the slots to make this work is the YV-666. Has anyone tried it in a list yet? I'm excited by the prospect of actually using IG-88 crew since its a cool idea with very few practical applications. I was thinking Moralo Eval with a Mangler Cannon, Gunner, IG-88D crew and Dengar crew. Flavor IG-88B pilot to taste

If you are shooting a gun that needs 3 triggers to hit, you’re probably doing something wrong.

Really? If you miss with a cannon attack you get to attack twice. Seems pretty sweet to me. Guess I'll have to try it myself to see how meh it is.

Spending a target lock to try and reroll hits into misses or whatever else you can think of to get that first shot to miss.

I guess the meta is pretty heavily leaning towards low agility bombers for scum and rebels right now so it would be fairly situational. If x7/ Defenders or Imperial Aces ever make a come back though it might be cool.

It got used against me on Bossk with IG88 B, he got the combo to work once against a Defender, then IG88 B died and he couldnt even hope to get it to work after that ;0

It can be any attack, it doesn't have to be a cannon.

There are two issues with it.

The first is missing in the first place.

The second is that Bossk is slow and lumbering and as soon as someone gets behind him he's toast.

Try the search bar. You would have found multiple threads on this same subject.

Search 'triple shot bossk'.

You just need to miss any attack once, so try and hit a range 3 through rock opponent, then you get two full attacks, with a cannon and with primary whether they hit or miss. So could do a lot of damage if things line up right for you.

It was more menacing when zuckuss crew was still broken, cuz you could use zuckuss to make the first ship reroll their blanks into evades, then on double attacks use zuckuss to put in damage.

I've tried Moralo with triple Bots in team epic and Latts-Bot in 100/6.

They are gimmicky but extremely hilarious at that.

47 points left for a budget IGGY-B or maybe toss a point for Burnout SLAM onto Bossk for unextpected multi-track drifting.

Get Bossk a Target Lock, launch Cruise missiles at target, refuse bonus dice for speed, reroll possible hit with Dengar. Congrats, you missed! Everyone in range 1 of the target with agility 2 or less must roll for damage, thanks Saturation Salvo! Then shoot that Mango compliments of IGGY-B. Then shoot that Primary Weapon compliments of Gunner. The two bonus shots can be at different targets! Dengar modifies all of them! AAAAGH! (Too excite)

Convoluted, overblown, and ultimately still not very good. Best used to upset those who don't read all your cards before a game, just that one first time. Cheers.

This list made the cut at the Cleveland Tennessee regional back in January. I beat it in top 8 with commonwealth.

My experience with the bossk triple tap was a guy arguing the rule for 45 minutes of the round in a big event.

Really: So this is the list I have been flying for a while now. Always played it that way too. I guess they just clarified it

Bummer. Sounds like an illiterate CHUD infiltrated this "big event", emboldened by spineless TOing. This interaction, loathed though it may be, has worked this way since before the most recent FAQ. It has just been getting more complex and satisfying when you pull it off. A rich tall glass of leathery schadenfreude...
