I haven't played any sessions of Rogue Trader but i have played Dark Heresy so I am familiar with the game. A friend of mine wasn't into DH but LOVES Rogue Trader. Here is how he explained the setting to a new group of players....

"You're playing the bridge crew of the Starship Enterprise but on acid."
