Doesn't have to be, but I'll probably give bonus points to anything that is newly done. If it's a great paint job, but I've seen it 10 times before I doubt it'd win.
@Crabbok so... how do you feel about really silly mods? :3
Is it repaints only? Or are physical mods also allowed? If so, do the parts used in mods or kitbashes also need to be ffg only?

Mods are ok. Within reason. If you went ahead and made Volton out of TIE Fighters for example,,, (as freaking awesome as that would be), I might have to disqualify you, but would at least give it an honorable mention!

Could I use the 3d printed models like Mel Minis or Alien Luxury? I want to try a folding wing GUNBOAT from AL.

I'd love to see that, but can you include some FFG models in the picture(s) so it still fits into the rules?

Ooh, I don' think so. Not unless I can get my hands on a Wave XII ship early!
Hmm.... the last SW ship I painted was a 3D printed C-70 Charger..... I guess I could include a Y-Wing for scale?

Update to the original contest - There is now an additional (smaller) prize! - anyone is elligible if you are a subscriber, but if you enter the contest you'll get an extra chance to win! I talk about it in the video below.
My friend and I are making a Gecko Squadron Upsilon for it, it'll be done soon and up on the Crabbok forum.
It’s not an FFG model but I just finished painting this a little while back.:
It’s much harder to get inside those wings, and keep clean lines, than it looks.
