Picked up two boxes of DK and while on paper they’re awesome, the actual models are gorgeous. I have to give FFG credit for making minis that are easier to assemble than competitor conpany’s minis yet still well sculpted enough that they feel tabletop worthy.
I’m scrounging through my bits box because I want to swap one of the DK’s hands with a fancier gauntleted one to represent Obcasium’s Gauntlet. Can’t decide if I should do that with the pointing hand or the weapon raised hand.
The models are really amazing.
I remember being wowed by their battlelore model. These are just scaled up and improved in every way so naturally I'm pretty happy with them as well.
The fun thing about runewars models, is FFG does such a bad with their advert paint jobs they look great when you get them, as they are better than anticipated!
FFGs models are good (not great), but good enough. Enough detail that you have good bits to work off of, not so much detail you feel a painstaking need to break out a bit of everything. I hate the material though, such a pain to clean up.
I agree. I’ve been burned on having to paint excessive Purity Seals and belt pouches on every Space Marine. It’s nice to only have three pieces to assemble and no base to mount.

I cut a spare ardus' left hand off and glued it in place of the pointing hand, and it worked well. I plan on getting some shields for a few others
